Thats a very good argument! And it very possibly what they are doing. Same as they will probabaly move Khan up to 147 when the division has died down and all the stars are gone either to 154 or retired. when only Berto is left, they might move Khan up.

Well a lot of boxingfans actually thought Khan would get his ass beat by Mallignagi... But there will allways be some who´s complaining...

So the master plan involves matching paper-jawed Khan up with one of the hardest punchers in the division, Maidana?

Gosh...how very cunning and clever. What dirty tactics.

Khan can't win with you numpties.

He must fight a banger one minute = He dodging the boxer the next.

The kid is 23 and not quiet there yet. His defence was the best I have seen it on Saturday and his jab was also top class. I think he needs another cuple of fights against puchers so he gets his confidence of what his defence is all about. Then he could be ready for an assault at possibly cleaning up.

I'd certainly let him fight Katsidis next and then Maidana. Then stick him in with Bradley. I think he wins all three fights. The final fight could be Devon and I think that would be close.

Why aint anyone giving Bradley or Alexander crap for dodging each other. They've been at the top of this division a year longer than Amir, yet they still keep fighting guys ranked down at 6 & 7, rather than unifying. But hey neither of them are the percieved "Fake European" are they. These fights will come, they just need a little simmering so they come to the boil as superfights. Khan needs to build his name before putting it all on the line.

Paulie Malignaggie sucks...He has received 3 brutal ass kickings, and has gotten two gifts. He should have 6 losses.

He is a cry baby, and can't put his money where his mouth is.

Anyone who thought he was something special because he beat a FAT FEATHERWEIGHT needs to go back and really think about this douche bag's career, and how pathetic its been compared to his talk.

Was this fight carefully set up...of course it was, Kahn needed a very safe fight to debut in the U.S., and Paulie was a known name and hardly a THREAT.

I agree with you totally! How can a tough battle in the ring or out of the ring with needles and blood testing make a fighter not able to train or get in the ring to fight. It's like you said a bunch of excuses by these fighters. Boxers need to go back to being Tough and act like fighters instead of models. Quit all this weak acting bs and fight like men.

Now....Paulie isn't a DANGEROUS threat meaning he couldn't get a KO...but truth be told...the kid can box. And he's a damn good boxer. He could have outboxed Amir if Amir wasn't a good fighter. Paulie beats a lot of fighters who are good but shy of great. He lost to Hatton and Cotto who are elite boxers. He did very well with Cotto and looked terrible with Hatton. His win over Juan 2 times were very good wins.

I agree this fight was a good choice.....there was little risk of a KO and based on Khan's abilities and talent they felt Paulie wouldn't be able to present any problems and they were right. But to write Paulie off as a NO RISK fight is incorrect. He was capable of winning a UD if he was a fighter on Amir's level....he's obviously NOT.

Sorry bro, Paulie sucks..B level at BEST. He cannot beat an A level fighter. The sole reason he beat Diaz was beacuse he was naturally bigger, and Diaz seemed to have lost a step. Diaz is a chubby lightweight, and Paul is a very fit Jr. WW, and STILL Paulie struggled in theri first fight. At any rate, Paulie lost to Lovemore and NGoudjo, but received a gift...I predicted Kahn to thoroughly dominate Paulie and he did.

Paulie was a strategically picked opponent...no hate, just reality. Paulie sucks.

And yet Malignaggi is still the best fighter Khan has ever faced. (The only other big name on his resume is Barrera, and Barrera was utterly shot.)

I'm not sure if we can really give Khan too much criticism for genuinely stepping up in class.

Ah.....I don't care much for Paulie's personality but I give the kid credit. He's got a great chin, a lot of heart and a lot of skills. I wouldn't call him a B level fighter but I wouldn't call him ELITE either. Paulie beat N'dou and Ngoudjo. He out boxed them in close fights. I predicted that Khan would win myself and get a KO but I didn't expect Khan to have such a onesided fight where the typically accurate and effiecent Paulie wouldn't be able to land in double digits.

All fights are "strategically" Picked for one reason or anther. So I'm not sure why you'd even bring that up. DLH picked Manny "Strategically"....Floyd picked JMM "strategically" and Manny picked Cotto "Strategically". The sport of boxing has always matched boxers strategically.
