he was the John duddy of his day, watch some of his fights, he had skill, heart and dedication.
and you'l notice in the old tapes that he didnt always look like the little kid from Jerry mcguire/stuart little lol

im not talking about his fighting days.

i thought his Parkinson's was giving him problems and that it was hard for him in his day to day life, in the video he was throwing full power hooks and working the speed bag, i was surprised.

this is from a few yeas ago, i think it was right after Morales beat Pacquiao, the first fight, almost a lifetime ago lol, so i dont think it was as pronounced, its a degenerative disorder, so it will get worse over time.

Although after threatening to KO Roger Mayweather, he'd acutally manage it with a left hook like that lol

According to Larry Merchant it is... "Arturo Gatti's best punch is the left cheek to the right glove"

Ok I need to edit the skill bit in regard to john duddy, but it was more the fact he was always in excitign fights without really ever being a leadig contender, i think Mickey Ward would be a better comparison.

Parkinsons can affect the nervous system in different way. Often times, athletes with parkinsons will still be able to do complex motor tasks but will struggle with regular motor function.

The reason for this is because of the years of training. It creates neural motor patterns within the brain and and throughout the entire nervous system. Combined with the fact that these things often require intense mental focus, they tend to not degrade so much.

Freddie has boxed for decades, throwing punches and working the bags is literally hardwired into his brain.

Just think of any older boxer, say Joe Frazier. His athletic ability has heavily declined, but I would bet he still can throw a mean left hook. The motor pattern is engrained at a neuromuscular level.

Have you seen a 60 year old Parkison's ridden Ali hit the speed bag?

I like Roach, but a lot of what he says in that video makes absolutely NO sense at all...also, why does that chick smile everytime she ****s up? What's so funny?

Duddy is on his way to a world title. He's going to beat Chavez and begin climbing up the ranks again. Just wait.

  14. Wow, Freddie Roach threw a left hook right at that woman's chin.

He must be training with Roger Mayweather.
