Funny thing is that if the fights that he wants for Pac are all cherrypicks, then the fact that he's calling out Mayweather means that May would also be a cherrypick for Pac.

but, as far as roach...of coarse roach calls out floyd, roach wants to be the trainer that trains the fighter that beats floyd...he's tried and failed, and he probably sees pac as his last chance...but that has nothing to do with roach saying he knows the fights that pac is getting into are decided before the bell rings due to the the fighters and weights being selected

 

Won't defend Pac's reluctance to take the test Floyd wants, I'll let others do that. (Incidentally, I think Floyd's version of the test is bull**** because it really needs to be 24/7/365, but that's another topic.) I was merely responding to your suggestion that he's never called out Floyd. But that's an aside, really.

Sure Roach probably would love to be the trainer who trains the fighter who can take away that 0. That doesn't mean he doesn't believe he can be that trainer, and he seems to sincerely believe that. But if you take that while buying the premise that Roach's matchmaking is cherrypicking, then you can't avoid the conclusion that a Mayweather fight would be a cherrypick. Which is why the notion is preposterous.

 

Sure, Pacquiao is the worst cherry picker there is. In his last few fights he only fought :

- The top name at 140 lbs (Hatton)
- an HOF (De La Hoya)
- the top 3 at welterweight (Cotto, Margarito, Mosley)
- His stylistic nemesis (Marquez)
