Marquez asked for $5M. Mosley is getting $5-8M :patsch. Typical Arum move.

98% of what Roach has said in the past 5 years has been proven to be false.

    So has Arum.

I love Marquez and feel he should have gotten much more consideration than Shane.

I fear however a trilogy at a high weight past his best days will only tarnish the legacy of the two other fights, particularly the rematch, with Pac having the advantages. Unless he can beat a 140 champion that is. Otherwise Floyd should step up already.

What JMM was willing to get paid and what GBP sent are two different things. GBP was willing to be bought out of the promotions but wanted their cut upfront - meaning 25-30% higher than what Marquez was willing to get paid.
On top of that JMM wanted decent PPV cut.

Now consider that Arum does not have to share the promoters earning and probably a smaller PPV cut with Mosley, so even if Marquez asked for $5 mil Arum would still get a keep a bigger cut of the pie.

disagree with Roach. Before fighting Pac above 135, JMM should fight some kind of contender who is not a lightweight to show that he can compete with those kind of guys. Otherwise this fight is a joke and wins over Juan Diaz and Katsidis don't do much to prove it isn't.

Good for Freddie...as long as he's not suggesting this happen a single pound above 140.

If Arum had any real foresight, he would have matched Pac vs JMM and marketed a future Pac-Mosley fight by putting Shane in the co-feature.

It would have been both a great card for fans and simultaneously a prudent business decision for Arum.

:deal Also, things are starting to make abit more sense. We know of the politics involved in boxing and had Mosley stayed with GBP, no way would there have been a Pacquiao-Mosley fight. Good move by Shane, financially, but as a boxing fan I wished he didn't.

That is a not a bad idea but Arum is like us, he is thinking that Shane's shelf life is coming a near end and it would be a financial gamble to wait another fight.

Shane and Arum's knows, his fighting days are coming to an end. They are both cashing out ASAP. Shane is no BHop.

Even though JMM is unproven above 135, he still deserves a shot... JMM has Pacs number and it doesn't matter 140 or 147, we will still be able to see a great fight.. Marquez knows Pacs tricks even if he has improved since they last met. He has enough first hand experience to make it very interesting...
