A fighter undergoes training and under a nutritionist supervision. It's not like he was 160 after the last fight then 147 after a week. There are preparations before a fight. No matter what.... it's the same person, skills, thinking minus the weight and little aging. The trainer and nutritionist won't risk their fighter if he isn't fully prepared, knowing they might have their fighter get killed. And we are talking about professional and seasoned trainers, Nacho and Dundee. Enough of the alibis and learn how to deal with realities in life. If a fighter loses, it's because he met his match. :hat

 

Regarding the thread title.....

You put Pacman in with the 154 lb version of Oscar that fought Floyd & DLH wins without doubt.

You put Mayweather in with the weight drained 147 lb Oscar that lost to Pac & Oscar gets KOd before rd 8 unless Floyd decides to torture him for fun.

EVEN IF manny fought & beat the same version that ran FMJ close... what about the phrase `styles make fights.`

You would think a trainer of Roach`s experience would know all this.

Where are the alibis? A lot of people are saying that Pac would beat PBF because people are using Oscar as a base. What we are trying to say that just because Pac beat Oscar handily, it does not mean he would beat PBF easily. And we are explaining to some not to go overboard and quickly assume that Pac would beat PBF handily. We are trying to show some people the differences in each fights.

 

Bad comparison, Floyd fought a prime castillo, Hatton fought a shot Castillo.

Quite a good comparison as floyd never fought a clearly shot and terribly weight drained fighter in oscar like manny did. Oscar was past best against mayweather but still a top level operator at the weight that suited him and with ring sizes etc that suited him too. De la hoya was a world away from what he had been against mayweather against pac. All credit still has to go to manny for the victory though, he was immense

 

Actually Oscar wasn't weight drained, his trainer himself said that Oscar didn't had any issues with the weight.
But I agree that Oscar looked shot, maybe Manny's style just showed it more than Floyd's did.

 

I rily dnt knw wat you pipz tryin 2 say, about DLH became easy 4 pac coz he was drained coz he weighed down to 147 while gayweather fought da big guy at 150+ dats why he only won by split decision on fighting DH. Now ur giving excuses after underestimating da pac b4 the fyt started! Nd did sum1 said dat PBF ddnt struggle on der fyt 2 DLH? Oscar wasn't weight drained ? atsch of corse his trainer is going to say everything is fine , because he does not want to be blame for one oscar worse performances in his career.
The fact that oscar was only able to gain 2 pound after the weigh in is sure proof he damaged his body trying to make 145, he came weighing less then the smaller man.. if the oscar the fought pac had fought floyd he would have been out of there in 3 or less .

 

what fight were you watching when you say floyd landed much more punches than manny on the golden boy even stevie wonder saw manny land alot more punches on the golden boy.

 

Stop comparing Oscar to the 2. Its apples and oranges. I think Manny wins the fight. He is in the absolute prime of his career. He has same hand speed if not faster. He should he can be very elusive. I don't think Floyd can throw his usual 30 punches and win the round. The only fight i think that is somewhat a blue print to this fight is Judah.

Judah had faster hands but Manny has much better stamina, strength, and mental toughness. I am going to take Manny winning the fight if it ever happens 8 rounds to 4
