Cotto had no choice. He didn't even want to put his belt on the line. He was strong armed into accepting those terms. Again, Pac is ranked ahead of Floyd at WW. How can Manny be a better Welter than Floyd, if it's deemed not fair for Mayweather fight him at the WW limit? Floyd was weighing no more than 149 lbs. on fight night in his first 3 Welter fights. So he wasn't a natural Welter either. However, can you imagine him having a belt, being ranked as the top Welter, and then making say a Margarito fight him at a catchweight? Everyone would flip out and brand him as a coward.

Money, Floyd will have to pay extra for those 2 pounds, and he isnt try 2 do that. The Pac camp is trying go get all the leverage in the fight. ANd in truth they are looking like they are scared IMO.
Lets look @ fact, they fought Oscar @ 147, Pac still came in @ 145. He had no problems beating Oscar there.
If the fight is set @ 147, he doesnt have to come in @ 147. He can still come in @ 145 pounds if he so pleases to. Why set the fight @ 145?
Especially if the belt is up for grabs. Set the weight @ 147, floyd will make weight there, Pac will make weight there put the belt up and call it a day. If FLoyd agrees to everything the Pac camp is proposing he has no leverage in the fight. 1 Roach says if the fight does happen, it wont b in march b/c thats 2 soon for Pac, he needs xtra time to study Floyd. SO floyd will b inactive longer than pac. The weight is going to b @ 145, which he wont make so it will cost him extra money. Floyd has no leverage in that scenerio if he agrees to that.
If Pac had no problems fighting oscar @ 147 be4, y now b/c its floyd we have to throw in a catchweight. If dude is as great as he and his camp and many followers believe. Set it @ 147 call it a day, thats how i see it

The guy was eating protein shakes on a daily basis to keep his weight up. Cmon now you don't do that cutting weight. I'll still call him a natural 140lber at this point though. People see what they want. Pac would be much more effective and dominant at 140 over 147. But the people want to see him in the biggest fights and challenge himself so he fights bigger guys. No ones complaining about the money they'll make. Theres a problem when fans feel the bigger man should gat all the leeway here and be comfortable while a smaller man carries excess weight.

Either way Pac take the fight at 147 cause it's what you do, fight the bigger man and win. You don't need any excuses. That's just how good you are. I don't see Floyd, Mosley or anyone else clamoring to go up and fight Williams, Pav, or AA.

This fight is not about weight or titles, its about who is the best P4P in our era. Little man coming in at 145 seems fair to me as he is at least 15 pounds over natural limit, but 145 for Floyd is only 2 pounds below his natural weight.

Thats why PBF should ask for a higher percentage if he has to agree to the catch weight eliminating the money issues.

That's bull****. That guy was weighing 144 lbs. on fight night when he fought at 130 lbs. He is not a 130 lber or even a 135 lber. anymore. His body has changed. And answer me this, does Pacquiao deserve to be considered the top WW as he is currently?

So now Manny is a natural 145er I have heard it all now.

For me top WW is Shane.

Manny for his age is now a natural 135er no more.

Manny would never be able to make 135 lbs. without being seriously drained. And there is no such thing as a natural 145 lber, that's not a division. Manny is best suited to fight at 140 lbs. right now, but he still has the ability to compete at 147 lbs. Another question, does Manny deserve to be ranked ahead of Floyd at WW?

Funny how when a typical Floyd-indoctrinated ESB'er notices a SECOND person who refuses to simply repeat Floyd's propaganda like the stupid robot Floyd was hoping for and chooses instead to think for himself objectively, the simpleton assumes it must be the same as person #1. Sadly though, this is about what I expect given the level of Intelligence/objectivity on ESB. :hey

I disagree Manny's best fights were at 130 with him starting out around 110, 135 would for me would be his natural weight, but he would have no problem with 140 because we can see he carries power and speed well ( he looked great vs David Diaz at 135) but because all the meanful fights were around 140-147 for him so he moved up.

Does Manny deserve to be ranked ahead of Floyd at WW: Yes because he fought a guy Floyd ducked for a long time and dismantaled him.

Shane is the guy...At the time, Cotto was regarded as the top WW, then Margorito came along and beat him for that title (#1 WW)...After that fiasco, Shane come along and beat the breaks off of Margorito leaving him as the #1 guy....Until somebody dethrones Mosley...Mosley is still reagarded the man at WW...True, Cotto beat Mosley back then but Mosley beat Margorito.:good
