Good article on guillermo rigondeaux Where the Boxing is Max....

Any of you folks on the fence as to whether Roach is the right guy for Rigo? He wants Rigo to show more offensive aggression and for some reason he is worried about Rigo fighting a pure boxer right now because he thinks Rigo needs more work if he has to fight someone in which he has to chase around the ring.

Rigo also fought (sparred) some random fighter, penalosa, and conception back to back. Schoolings lol. :yep

He's right cause Rigo is mostly a counterpuncher so if he fights someone who stays at a distance and potshots all day he will not get many opportunities to land and will probably get outpointed. Easier said than done tho.

I dont know about all that. I guess Vasquez is slipping but still a tall order for a guy with that lil experience.

but in essence, isn't that Rigo's main role? I know he is a counter puncher that shifts left to right and doesn't really stick and move purely. But he can MOVE so sickly and smoothly. I think if Rigo wished, he could also stick and move for an entire fight. And I don't think Rigo would mind, or have a problem with that at all because thats seen more frequently in the amateur scene anyways.

He may have little pro experience but I think that does not matter. Rigo has so much instincts as a fighter. Hes seen millions of punches go by his head already, as far as experience I don't think theres an issue. Especially someone like him who thinks his style is flawless, hes never going to change so IMO we should get Rigo into big fights asap before his physical prime slips away (most likely already has slightly) due to old age.

Of course he would, Vazquez is shot Freddy has a history of taking young fighters and getting them fights with fighters who are well past it, this is nothing new here.

Izzy is shot to bits. Of course he'd put him in with Izzy. That said, if Izzy is even 2/3rds of where he was against Marquez, he'd overwhelm Rigondeaux, who's just too damn passive for the pro game in my opinion.

    Dear Freddie Roach,

Leave old Mexican fighters alone. You're beginning to look like a douche.

    Your pal,
