disagree, he's most likely the best trainer when it comes to offensivly comfortable fighters, problem is when a fighters defensive frailties outweigh their offensive ability.

what does being a world champion fighter got anything to do with being a good trainer? some good trainers have the mind for the sport and never had the athletic ability to translate it themselves hence the reason they pass it on to whomever they teach. eg. phil jackson was a shite player but see how many championships he won as a coach.................

Every trainer has his strengths and weaknesses.I agree he's not some Yoda-style fountain of knowledge, but he's done a good job with several of his fighters. He plays to his strengths and I've got no problem with him getting credit.I think most people who know their stuff give him credit for offence, and realise he doesn't excel when it comes to teaching defence.I don't think many trainers can perfect an all round game, most of the exceptions I'd say were more to do with the fighter. The fighters with the great all-round game would get it perfected with most A-level trainers, and the ones who don't but have enough strengths to become A-level fighters usually don't perfect their obvious weaknesses.I accept there are exceptions to all of these points though.

Disagree. Best trainer right now. He gave Pac footwork and a right hand. He recovered Khan's career.
While Nacho is willing to take on and teach fundamentals to young fighter Raoch is far too old and sick to do that now.

May Snr and Roger should be even in the discussion as their success is based on a self trained, naturally gifted, workaholic ATG. I could train PBF to a belt.

Nazim is very smart but I think people get hypnotize by his words which half the time does not even make sense, and his record is not as successful as his words.

Garcia has done great in the last 3-4 years but I would wait.

If Roach is that bad, what does that make Mayweather Jr.?

He was pretty undefeated when he trained his son.

He took Pacquiao after his two KO losses, who was seen as a one-dimensional fighter, to an upset of Ledwaba and then to FOTD and an ATG career. Took over Khan after he was KTFO and when no-one could have imagine he'd go on to take on the best JWWs and beat them to become unified champ, lead him to do exactly that. When another trainer has a succesful rebuilding case of that magnitude, let alone two, and doesn't get credit for it, then you can talk. He is overrated only in the minds of haters, and they wait like weasels for the opportune time to try to discredit him such as Pac and Khan's latest below par performances. Who cares if they are not the best infighters, the proof
of his greatness is in the pudding of their success.

Anyone who thinks he isn't a good trainer is a liar and has some sort of agenda. He's only overrated because of the ridiculous hype around him.

Yep, I understand he may get a lot of attention - that is because of Pac's success and his Parkinson's. And guess what you numbnuts want mainstream attention for boxing so much that you forget to realize that often mainstream attention is all about things not related "between the lines". Do you guys even watch ESPN 30 for 30? HBO Real Sports?

I think it's fair to say that defensively, he has fighters effectively avoid their weaknesses, rather than correct them...like teaching Khan and Pacquiao to circle out and control distance to avoid getting caught on the inside, instead of teaching them an actual inside game, probably since he seems to prefer focusing on maximizing their strengths.
