[yt]dXyupgiLXeY[/yt] Here's part of Roach' interview on ESPN. Some of the points that he raised include: He really dislikes Mayweather Sr. as he disrespected him a lot. He thinks highly of Marquez, saying that he's a great and smart fighter, and the only fighter who gave Pac trouble style-wise. He thinks they can neutralize Mayweather's shoulder roll defense by breaking down his body. He would pick a prime duran against Manny at 140. :good He said that Khan was knocked out right away during his sparring sessions with pacquiao.
Nah, he didn't say that. He said he had Manny spar with him right away, which was a risky move, because if Manny would have knocked him out, he didn't know how it would have affected his work with Khan.
I really don't get why so many people hate on Roach, the man is just honest! Brutally honest sometimes. He simply calls it as he sees it. What's wrong with that? I guess people don't like hearing the truth...
No he didnt, he says he took a chance putting Kahn in with Pac because IF Kahn got knocked out, what was he gonna do with him.
You can see in the short sparring sessions everytime Pacquiao landed Khan froze but Pac didn't follow up as he knew Khan was dazed. It's called sparring not kill your opponent, you test out stuff over there and if you know these partners out then where's the benefit?, fighters test different stuff out during sparring sessions and often make mistakes on purpose to see how they can capitalize. Too many idiotic newbies here who live in McDonalds think sparring sessions are world class challenges. Another thing about Khan, it was hilarious to see some of his fans claim the sparring sessions were "competitive". If it took Prescott 1 minute then it will take 1 second.
Roach says there's no light sparring in his gym. He says every session is a basically regular fight with the only rule being if you hurt your opponent, you don't finish him. Which explains why everytime Manny landed on Khan in the footage we saw he wouldn't follow up.
