I think it would be better for Jr. to maybe stick with Freddie. Jr is a very offensive minded pressure fighter and freddie fits that style well. Nacho I think would try to incorporate to much into chavez's game and would turn him into something he is not. Though I do feel Roach is right in saying that if Jr does not shape up, he would be a waste of talent.

Chavez is a huge waste of talent, the only thing that saves him is his name and that he's so young, he could be a p4p guy but Roach isn't the Trainer based off his personality. I feel like he needs a trainer who will boss him around more than anything.

I honestly think Nacho is a better fit, Roach needs to learn how to teach these guys to cut the ring off, keep them hands up and fight smart, its not all about pressure and brawling.
that **** got his two biggest stars knocked the **** out

JCC Jr. needs someone who isn't going to baby him and tell it like it is. But, Jr.'s ego has already gotten to big and may be unmanageable. Either way, he'll always be a B- to B+ fighter.

I'm sure Roach tells his guys to keep their hands up and not do something idiotic like charge into a punch with your hands down in the last 5 seconds of a round you're winning, but really, there's only so much a trainer can do in ad******g a fighter's mindset. You can teach someone all the skills in the world, but if they're not wired right, it doesn't necessarily mean they'll use what they know.

Pacquiao isn't a total dip****, he has executed gameplans and fought with discipline and strategy in the past, but he's always been aggressive and impatient, and he probably felt embarrassed and wanted to regain face by KOing Marquez after he got knocked down. It was a combination of who he is and the circumstances surrounding that particular fight. He paid for getting overzealous. Not Roach's fault. That's more Manny's fault than anything else. Boxers aren't RC cars with a mental link to instantly obey whatever their trainer wants them to do.

Khan on the other hand has a low fight IQ and a weak chin, and his survival instincts are awful. He trades whenever he gets tagged. Again, it doesn't really matter what Roach tells Khan to do, he can't change his mindset or that shitty chin. He looked good boxing from the outside against Garcia until he got caught with that huge bomb Danny threw while he was looking down.

I disagree about Jr. being a waste of talent though. He has an incredible chin, decent power, some stamina, and is a good body puncher, but he hasn't really shown much actual boxing talent. His game is all about grinding people down more with physical attributes than with boxing skills or talent. He could be more technical, versatile, and better than he is, sure, but he doesn't strike me as someone blessed with incredible natural talent.

I think the best fit for Chavez Jr. would be Robert Garcia. I don't think him and Nacho will get along very well, nor do I think Jr. is willing to learn/fight like how Nacho might want him to fight.

Jr's biggest talent is holding a cloud of cannabis for 30 seconds in his lungs, not boxing

He only trained with Roach 5 days? Crazy if true.

I'd say Jr. cuts off the ring quite well, I don't think he was prepared to be pushed back the way Martinez often did. Great strategy by Sergio, something I thought he might try given the sparring clips they showed of him holding his ground on the inside.

He's got talent not great talent, he packs a good punch, and has a great chin, but he needs discipline and maybe Nacho can give him that, he doesn't give anyone a pass

Forget about fighting Martinez again and move up in weight to 168. That's what Chavez Jr. should do or needs to do at the moment.
