the wbc should do the right thing and make chavez face martinez, freddie is really being a hypocrite here.
With that said I would definitely want to see vanes vs alvarez if he gets by rhodes.

 

vanes vs canelo would be an awesome fight. This would seriously test the mettle of alvarez at this point.

Vanes vs Canelo is a good fight that makes sense. Martinez vs Chavez is just taking Chavez' career and dumping it in the garbage.

Maybe, alot off ppl started wrong off canelo after the idiots at gbp made him a paper champ, his skills aren't fully developed, we will see how fast he is learning new things comparing the rhodes hatton matches.

 

alvarez has a lot of fights but he started professionaly at 15 years old I believe and he fought a lot of bums, he needs to get out more and fight more globally. I think Rhodes is a great test at this point. hatton was too feather fisted you could tell he wasn't having any effect but Vanes will put a hurtin on this boy.

In an ideal world that would be the case, but then you have situations where the legitimate and lineal champion of the division cannot get anyone in the ring with him without an ABC belt. As nice as The Ring belt may be for determining who the ruler of a division is, it does jack **** in the way of getting fights made.

 

I think fighters are now more aware of the ring belt which is why more fighters are trying to secure fights now, so they can be the undisputed champions. It even has the caveat that if for some reason the number 2 won't fight the number 1, the number 3 can fight the number 1 and it will be for the ring belt. Prevents any Sturm like moves from happening.

 

it's not true that Martinez cannot get anyone in the ring. He cannot get the people he wants in the ring, but he can get someone like Pirog in the ring easily.
