This is in a nutshell. Honestly, I can see a certain type of boxer beating Mayweather and he looks nothing like Manny. And as you mentioned, Manny doesn't really have any attribute that I would feel is critical to accomplishing that task.

This is the person to beat Floyd. Perfect description. That's why when you look back at Floyd's toughest fights, they are bigger fighters with a jab to control the location of the fight. It's why Maidana, as crude and dirty as he was at times, was able to keep Floyd on the ropes. Floyd will be the stronger person in the ring by far and he's going to treat Manny like the little guy he is.

It is more likely that Pacquiao is going to be the one that gets hurt/knocked down/KO'd than Mayweather. (Pre-emptive dip post comment to avoid the onslaught from the Pac**** Nation) I give Mayweather a better chance of knocking out Pac than vice versa. (I think it goes to the cards)

Pre-DLH, if Floyd were to take a fight against Manny he would have been outright ridiculed for taking on the "smaller Pacquiao." It's ALWAYS been a mismatch. Manny's popularity is why this fight has the legs it has. People, "casual fans," are literally blinded by their admiration for Pacquiao.

You have Manny doing public workouts with fans, joking around, and doing his best Rocky III before getting KO'd by Clubber Lang impersonation, and the other guy has disappeared like Marvin Hagler: shut out the public, cameras, and hasn't made a SINGLE COMMENT about the fight while training. Uh oh! :scaredas: The only thing missing is Mayweather to come out for the press conference before the fight with a hat that says "WAR" on it.

Theres really nothing to it.

While Roach at the beginning of the paragraph was generally speaking on developing moves, he suddenly shifts and talks about a very specific set of move where they have only a very short window to execute.

Real or not, I think Roach was just giving the impression they are developing moves akin to Hattons "Right kook roll under, right hook roll under - same move everytime".

 

Nobody lands combos on Floyd. And when they do, after that Floyd disappears. Pac is going for the ko because Roach knows that his charge wll get tired. It's Pacs only chance to beat Floyd.

 

I remember Ricky Hatton murdering the bag with all of his screaming and carrying on... fools actually thought he was going to batter Floyd! But we saw how that turned out too...

You missed the point.

Roach claims they are abandoning combos, yet we see Pac practicing combos on the heavybag. Its rather contradictory.

 

Sounds like ODLH gameplan and lots of movement. Interesting, perhaps he thinks Manny can't stop Floyd.

 

He keeps mentioning Floyd's legs has gone and Manny's legs are good, moving and throwing quick shots would be a way to exploit that.
