Says Hopkins is shot...now DLH can't pull the trigger...said amazing things about Tyson before the Danny Williams fight...

Most trainers-- GOOD ONES-- talk when they have to. Roach gives a press conference everytime he sees a camera...he has some opinion or judgement to make.

He is a GOOD trainer...but has poor opinions.

I don't know how you can be a good trainer and have this poor of judgement...I honestly don't comprehend.

Haha, his missed his opportunity to be part of boxing history on Saturday. What a blow that was, and he asked for it!

They weren't bad opinions as such.

He did underestimate Hopkins but so did most of us after the Calzaghe fight. The truth is Hopkins isn't shot but he is past his prime. Hopkins looked gassed and i suppose you counld say shot against Calzaghe in the latter rounds but that is inevitable. Styles make fights and Hopkins was bound to look gassed against Calzaghe because of Calzaghes work rate. And although Hopkins looked great against Pavlik it was down to the styles. Pavlik is tailor made for Hopkins, even a post prime Hopkins which is what Hopkins is today - he isn't what he used to be but he still is good enough to school a limited and inexperienced fighter like Pavlik.

As for Tyson he did look good in the early rounds. I don't want to take anything away from Danny Williams, he took a lot of punsihment and sucked it up and fought back well but Tyson blowing out his knee had a lot to do with the stoppage.

As for DLH, i don't know. He tired badly against Mayweather in the second half of the fight and he couldn't pull the trigger but it is hard to pull the trigger against such an elusive, defensive specialist like Mayweather even if you are in your prime and increadably fit. DLH looked much better against Forbes who, whilst not as elusive as Mayweather is still a good defensive boxer but Forbes couldn't hurt DLH so DLH didn't get as tired plus because of Forbes lack of power he couldn't get Oscars respect so Oscar could control the pace of the fight.

Roach might not always be on the money (everyone makes mistakes anyway) but like someone else said he wouldn't be such a good trainer if he always made bad decisions.
