i am a big floyd mayweather and manny pacquiao fan.pacquiao didnt look at his best against marquez and floyd looked pretty sharp against ortiz but many may have forgot freddie roach(not as well known back then) was de la hoyas trainer when they lost a close split decision against floyd could he possibly do the same with pacquiao?thoughts?

emmanuel doesn't have the cutting off the ring skills, size, and/or jab to apply pressure onto Floyd

Castillo had like 10 pounds over Floyd and knew how to cut off a ring

Oscar had at least 15 pounds over Floyd and worked with an ATG jab

de la hoya has nowhere near an atg jab and roach isnt a stupid guy he wants the fight against mayweather floyd is the ultimate counter puncher but a dont feel it is a forgone conclusion against pacman ps de la hoya was past his best against mayweather and pushed him to a split decision

I have now seen that after all this hype, all the lies about how much he has improved, manny can only follow a gameplan when his opponent moves in a way that suits him and when his fighter is a pattern fighter.

Against the best adaptive fighter in the world Manny will be nothing. His handspeed and power meant nothing against a 38 year old thinking fighter, and it will mean nothing against a faster, smarter, more skilled opponent.

So no, Roach does little to the outcome of the fight.

You also have to remember Floyd is a better or equal tactition than Roach, only Floyd doesnt have to tell his fighter what changes he has to make between rounds, he can make them on the spot as well as change his gameplan in an instant.

Floyd via wide UD all the way.

Also Floyd will be the bigger man and it was De la Hoyas size that troubled Floyd.

When Floyd fights a shorter oppoenent he knows how to fully take advantage.

good post but a just dont feel floyds not unstopable a dont see pacman stopping him or tht but a think if he kept busy enough(and know ones busier than pacquiao)he could push mayweather to a close decision lets not get all up on the hype tht pacquiaos finished because of one fight tht he won bad performance back to the drawing board again.agreed tht he wasnt his usual uptempo pace against marquez and he needs to get back to throwing alot more punches if hes gona have a chance against mayweather.agreed mayweather is extremely intelligent fighter but a wouldnt be surprised if a more attackin pacquiao showed up if they fought and like any other fight mayweather doesnt like pressured

I dont think that last statement is true. I think its a myth that mayweather doesnt like pressure. other than castillon, who doesnt get credit for using effictive pressure(jabbing and hookin off of it tovthe body and using hooks to the body to help cutting off the ring) floyd has handled pressure extremely well an floyd didnt lose that many rounds tp oscar.

mate it was a split decision so at least one judge had de la hoya winning 6 rounds and a understand if ur a counter puncher u thrive off of offense but no fighter likes constant pressure
