Freddie Roach To Train Miguel Cotto & Ricky Hatton

No it's not that. If Hatton works out with Roach . . . then Roach will have a clearer idea of all of Hatton's weaknesses . . . which he can then pass on to Pacquaio when training for their fight.

Believe me . . . chosing between hatton and Pac . . . Roach will drop Hatton like a hot potato.

 

Nice. Roach would help him become a better fighter without making him lose his trademark fighting style.

Maybe Cotto will also teach Pac some grooming tips and turn him into a metro pacsexual.

 

Roach just want to make sure Hatton beat Pauli. Then dump Hatton before the Pac-Hatton fight. This way he can make Money on Hatton and also spy on Hatton's weaknesses. Just Like with DLH.

I think Hatton will pick Mayweather Sr though.

 

LOL, Roach has been feeling pretty sure of himself these days. Cotto went out of his way to state that Evangelista will stay in his corner when he arrived back in PR.

How much time does Roach have left? He seems to be deteriorating rapidly. :verysad

 

He's been advised to have some major surgery done to help him move more normally.

He said as long as he can work normally, he'll just stick with the meds.

If his illness gets too bad and he cant work fights anymore, then he'll go and have the surgery done.

 

Hatton will be trained by Lee Beard for this fight. Then probably move on to Mayweather Snr.

 

Mayweather senior IS training Hatton next.

All this talk of Roach - he sucks.

I heard that when Pacman was training for Diaz, Roach did 10 mins with him and then sat in office for the rest of the time.

And that's a typical training session.

 

Freddie would earn a damnsight more money training Hatton than he would training Pacquiao :deal

 

I'm going against it. Cotto did a very fine job to block Margarito's punches as long as he had the stamina... that 8 punch combo by Margarito that ALL missed without Cotto blocking any of them was pure boxing genious... Roach can't teach you something like that. Freddie trains offensive fighters and Cotto, while dangerous offensively, is more of a boxer these days, and damn good. And Roach can't train you for better stamina, Oscar tried but still faded vs. Mayweather.

Roach is just the opposite what Cotto, already a complete fighter, needs. One of the Mayweathers would be nice. He needs to use that defense with more confidence and counterpunch a bit more precise. He's a complete fighter but a great strategist and a trainer who brings out everything he's got is what he needs. Looking back to his fights vs. Tony and Shane, I gotta say, maybe the best interest is to stay with Evangelista... I truly believe that his loss was all because of stamina and Margarito's superb chin and great punch output. Cotto only needs to work more to the body and use the jab to control the fight and stay away from the ropes in the rematch - but you can match the stamina.

 

Jr. Middleweights and Middleweights who are bigger and stronger than Margarito (i.e. Santos and Pavlik).

You dont need to knock himout to win.You can beat him every round and win a UD.Williams showed Margo could be beaten.

This brings me to the question,how tough is Cotto?Williams was caught by the same shots that caught Cotto but wasnt slowed down.
