Sadly, his health seems to be going downhill pretty rapidly; yet, he's taking on more commitments almost by the week.

Training fighters is whats going to keep Freddie healthy.

It's what he knows and loves, and I expect him to hold on to them mitts for as long as possible, he's truly a scholar of the sport.

Maybe Freddie is just looking for a good middleweight. I think all of Sturms talk was just bluster and bull****.

With Freddie training Macklin, I think Macklin will probably end up beating any current MW champion with ease!

I never complained about it. The guy is a genius. I sincerely hope he stays involved in the sport for years to come.

yea i think he is taking on way too many boxers. its not good for either of them really because macklin is gonna be bottom priority in roachs eyes and how much time will macklin get with him when pacquiao is in training... 0

Macklin looks like a decent boxer/puncher who likes to keep the pressure up, and isn't one bit afraid of a brawl. He has good power, okay hand speed, decent defense, and so-so footwork.

If he gets past Pirog, he will be installed as the next WBC mandatory. He probably thinks Roach can polish him up enough to get him past Pirog and into a title shot. However, unless Roach can teach this kid to fight off the back foot, he is exactly the type of fighter Pavlik shines against.

He said on Irish radio today that his health condition isn't deteriorating as fast as doctors expected it to and he attributes this to staying active.

Freddy has become a bit of a franchise now. He's becoming really well know, every fighter attached with him gets a boost.

I thought Sturm was trying to get a bump in popularity so that HBO would make a real offer for Pavlik/Sturm. But, Felix went right back to Germany and signed a 10 fight TV deal.

I get the impression that Macklin is a cat of a different breed. I think he is serious about fighting KP. The Roach connection can only benefit him.
