Loma isn't there to be hit though he can apply pressure sure but he can also box his ass off. IMO Loma if both were the same size would be a bad match up for Pac. He's not going to come right at Pac he will look to box him so you're completely off base here.

Prime for prime at 126 or 130 I don't give Loma style advantage. Loma doesn't have reach to bother Pac. Loma doesn't have the power like Marquez or Morales to deter Pac from just walking right through Loma. And Pacquiao may chin check loma.

People don't realize that Pacquiao was a an extremely tough and durable fighter back in the day.

He took the best shots from Marquez and Morales two power punchers and wasn't even dazed.

Pacquiao walks through Loma. Skills matter, but sometimes you know the other guy is strong and never gets tired. And that can be a problem.

Pacquiao Loma would look more like Pacquiao Barrera than Pac Marquez or Pac Morales.

Loma just doesn't have the strength, power or durability to endure a Pac offensive.

Yes, but that was over 12 years ago. Pacquiao is not 23 he is 37 and is fighting light punchers for money. He is afraid and I don't blame him but Arum is going to sell him out and that's unfair. He can't dominate bigger guys without Ariza. I'm not even being funny or slick.

Lomachenko is great, but he hasn't faced an elite opponent with an elite offense. Lomachenko applies constant pressure and that will create opportunities for Pacquiao. The handful of times Floyd initiated action (3? 4?), he was badly countered twice. Lomachenko can't trade with Pacquiao and he doesn't care to fight a safety first type stinker. Pacquiao will have opportunities and he'll take advantage.

As skilled as Loma is, he has never fought anyone the caliber of Pac. Loma even realizes this.

Pacquiao would be huge for 135 right now and the weight cut would make him far more efficient against the Lightweights than the Welterweights. His power would be crazy and he'd have a huge size advantage.

Another thing, Lomachenko has the best footwork I've seen, Pacquiao's foot speed is immense but his footwork is very mediocre and lets him down from the perspective of ring generalship. Lomachenko is a better pure boxer and an aggressive counter puncher. The problem with Loma is that he's no way near great on the back foot.

Agreed. Too big, in fact. That's the thing- I think Pac has been too big for too long to make 135 without a significant dropoff in performance now. It's been over 8 years since he made lightweight. His body is used to operating with the extra muscle, and when you cut that back down, you don't get to pick and choose the muscle that gets eliminated. Some of what would get burned off would be crucial muscle that helps makes him Pac in the first place.

That's why fighters dropping down in weight later in their career never works. The assumption is that they'll gain speed by being lighter and still have a strength advantage from having had experience in the larger class, but the reality is that both speed and strength decline. Some of that muscle that's getting burned is the stuff you really don't want burned off, and there's no solution for that.

Pac making that move to face Lomachenko would be the ultimate trap, and would be a massive showcase for Loma.

Its 6 pounds man. 6 pounds from 141 to 135. Pacquiao can cut that weight. His natural walk weight is 141.

And Oscar only had to drop 5 lbs from where he fought Forbes for the Pac fight.

Pac's benefited from not having to cut weight. His body's used to the 140's now and he'd be 38 years old when a Loma fight happened. It's a dangerous gamble to shoot for 135, and there would be a dropoff IMO. There reaches a point where every pound taken off has an incrementally bigger negative effect on performance- maybe he does get to 135 retaining most of his positive attributes, but it's not a promising historical record when fighters roll the dice on it.
