I shall start by saying that i have great respect for Roach for all that he has accomplished in his training career, however, i have a certain worry about him that i thought i would quickly express. It strikes me as odd that Roach claims that Manny is like a son to him etc, yet he is thrusting manny into fights in higher weight classes against very dangerous opponents. Lets be honest, Manny is excellent, but you can get seriously hurt in the ring, and although it is yet to be seen how Manny moves up in weight i wouldn't want his huge heart and motivation not to let his people down to end up getting him seriously hurt in a match against guys that are essentially much bigger than him, i.e. Hatton and De la hoya... do you guys think Roach is being careless and perhaps just looking for fortune and glory?
didn't Tito's dad feed him to Hopkins and Roy Jones? Was he just looking for fortune and glory? I don't think so. Roach and Pac is a similar situation but no blood relation
Manny Pacquiao has a genuine chance of beating Hatton, but if he fights Oscar then he will get KTFO. :bbb Marquez hurt Pacquiao, just imagine what Oscar's left hook would do.
Marquez is about 100x more sharp than Oscar at this point. I'm not saying Pac would beat Oscar, but he definately wouldn't get KTFO easily, even with the huge size disadvantage. imo Oscar has been past it since his fight with Sturm Did you know that Steve Forbes is moving back down all the way to lightweight?
Maybe Roach really believes he can beat the people like Hatton or maybe even DLH.. Nobody knows Pacquiao like Roach and he is a damn good trainer.. Roach is confident in Pac and he wouldn't put Pac in a terrible situation.. Roach can't make the fights though, Arum does...
Boxing is hurt business. You might just as well Play Golf. Ups Tiger just get hurt. Just Play chess, nobody guts hurt in chess.
Exactly, and I had Marquez winning the fight by 2 rounds at least. Still, Oscar De La Hoya must hit at least twice as hard Marquez, and you're telling me he won't land once in 12 rounds? Oscar would excel against someone like Pacquiao who will be coming at him with no defense, and not being able to lay a dent. Del La Hoya has spent a career knocking people out at Welterweight, whereas Manny has spent a career knocking guys out at Super featherweight. Different story altogether. It's Tito and Mosley all over again.
Tito was a great welterweight, but he couldn't carry his power up to Middlweight and was demolished by Winky and Hopkins. Shane Mosley was a great lightweight, but starting losing fights at welterweight and light middleweight. He could have reigned at Lightweight for years. Moving up in weight can seriously damage a legacy.
Tito fought prime Winky and prime Hopkins when he moved up Mosley fought prime Forrest and prime Winky, and its not like Winky knocked him out at 154. Pac would be fighting shot Oscar its not the same
The same shot Oscar who was competitive with prime Floyd Mayweather Jr and who had Mayorga on ***** street. The last thing to go in a fighter is his power, and Oscar will without doubt land on Pacquiao plenty of times, and I just can't see Manny's chin holding up. Manny was knocked out at Flyweight early on in his career for christ sake atsch Del La Hoya would brutally knock him out.
First off . . . don't believe everything you read. These press releases are are nothing but HYPES. The fact is Roach . . . doesn't make the call who Pacqauio is going to fight. . . . and everybody who's in this busines are all looking for fortune and glory so no big deal.
Hatton didn't look good against Lazcano. Floyd beat the undefeatedness out of Hatton, and he's just not the same fighter, it seems. Pacquaio's best chance is here, though he likely gets knocked out by Hatton. De La Hoya knocks Pacquaio out. Flat out.
