    Interesting read.

Ps. was this really Roach`s plan or do you just assume that it was ?

it's a good read, but VARG's analysis is better. unless freddie confirms that it's really their fight plan :deal

I don't think it was Pac's plan to run the risk of getting a rib broken. He lost the first, won the second, scraped the third because of the KD, won the fourth (and the fight with it) but countering Cotto hard, cause he was getting tagged and losing the round.

After that Cotto had nothing left.

This is trying to assume that even when Pac wasn't doing well, he was actually doing well. Roach admitted Cotto was giving Pac trouble early on, and that some of those shots were shaking Manny up a bit.

    It's just intellectualised nonsense.

  6. That was a good analysis, I love military strategy and appreciate when peopl ehave a go like this. Post more if you're keen.

I remember watching 24/7 when cotto and pac were facing off and kellerman asks 'what will you guys be doing in the first round'. They both look at each other and appeared real smug and started laughing. Could of been nothing, but I think it was obvious the first round was the most important round of the fight for both camps.

It wasn't just strategy that won this fight for pacman, it was skills, conditioning, confidence from past wins, he had enormous rewards with this win aswell as a solid team working behind him. But Roach really did conjur up something special, and is a master.

Cotto wasn't as big opponant for manny as a lot of people were deluded into believing.

I think the whole article, albeit a good and interesting read, is nothing but an educated speculation on the writer's part much reinforced with the benefit of hindsight. Solid effort though.

Actually Roach has stated many times Pac man Actually deviated from the game plan. Also you can see Roach, clearly not happy with what he was seeing between rounds.

My position in a Floyd/ Manny fight is MAnny should stand in the middle of the ring and obligate Floyd to attack. There is not need for him to run after Floyd. After all, Manny is the WW champion right now. Floyd is just coming from beating a 36 y/o worn out about to retired lightweight.
