Well a couple weeks back I got a nice email from 1940's heavwyeight Contender Freddie Schott's Son....essentially saying "I
I have been searching trying to find information about my father who was a professional boxer in the 1940's....Freddie Schott" and how he saw some of my postings of Schott and asked if I would help him because he had no information on his father the fighter......

Well because of greats sites like eastside, boxrec, and archive of old newspaper articles...I was able to give Schott's son his full father's record, a photogprahs, and old newspaper clipping links of his father's fights.

After sending him the info I got a great message back

"Thank you so much for your response. That is his picture, it is great to see his boxing record. I had no idea that this type of information would be out there. He died almost 20 years ago, and he never told me much while I was growing up about his time as a fighter. I appreciate you taking the time to assist me. His grandkids are going to love seeing this. Thanks again."

Honestly guys, its moments like this that make us realize why we love to study boxing history...and why we love to give back to the community.
