love the guy, but.....
wouldnt put it passed him to try to gain an 'advantage'. one of my favorites but also one of the dirtiest.

At first I read all the articles and I thought Margarito was found guilty but now I mixed feelings on this one

The possibility is always there that Margarito did not know that his trainer was illegally wrapping his hands and to be honest what warrior needs to gain an illegal advantage to win a fight when he already believes in his skill and his boxing ability.

The more and more I sit down and think about it I think that his trainer was the sole person who did this so that his fighter could gain an advantage without his fighter even knowing because I think if Margarito knew, as a fighter I am sure that he would have questioned it and not felt comfortable knowing he was cheating.

His brother died early in his boxing career and I know he was close to his brother and to me I dont think that he would of wanted his brother to look down on him as a cheat. it just does not make sense for Margarito to allow his trainer to give him an unfair advantage with him willingly allowing it to happen.

Think about it for a minute. Call me an ediot but I tend to have very strong intuition on things and after looking at everything I dont believe he actually knew that his trainer was illegally wrapping his hands.

If I was his trainer I would feel ashamed to admit that I was wrapping his hands to give him an advantage.

Margarito's job was to train for fights and not to worry about his hands being wrapped so I really really do believe that Margarito did not know anything about it.

I am probably the only person on this entire site who will stand by that point of view.

 

It is too late for AM. He can't change his style. He can't box, so he is not able to change even if he wanted to.

Also, im pretty sure Roach already said Hatton is too old/too far into his career to change his style. Marg is a year older than Hatton

At least he's been stopping/TKOing these guys now, as opposed to the ,essentially, running display he put up again stevens.

Terrible mistake from Roach, why train a cheating loser like that?

 

I don't really find this offensive.

A) Margarito probably didn't know what is legal and illegal as far as wraps go. I wouldn't know, personally, and I doubt a lot of boxers know for sure. I've had different trainers wrap my hands different ways before.

B) It's not like he had a piece of iron in his glove...it was a piece of hard gauze. Deal with it...not that big of a deal.

I think joining Roach could improve Antonio a lot...he needs to find a way to get past his big deficiency in handspeed, IMO.

Why the is everyone acting like he had a ****in brick in his hand. Whatever it was it couldnt of been that bad if it too that long just to determine what it was. I dont think its bad enough to get him banned from boxing. Its not as bad as some of the **** Tyson used to do

 

A piece of gauze that had plaster of paris on it.:deal It's a very big deal this guy should never be allowed in the ring again. and Roach is a hypocrite calling the man a cheater then agreeing to train him..pathetic.

 

I see you're still up to you're old tricks still defending this *******.:-( The man had Plaster on his gloves it's as hard as a brick. Quit trying to downplay this like it was nothing. Margo's career has been tarnished and every win will be called into question.
