Its possible that everyone in Margarito's camp felt they were innocent, and Capetillo being the only one to know the truth, talked them out of taking it to court.

Btw Freddy, if you do that plaster experiment with the wraps, let us know your findings on how they feel on the fists when first placing them there......
......punching a heavybag for about the first 5 minutes.....

.....and how they feel after about 20 minutes after you've worked up a good sweat and the plaster powder is hardening if not already hard......

I'm not so sure you're going to be able to tell if you're punching harder......only a person on the recieving end could tell if that were the case.....

.....but the one thing I'm interested in is how the knucklepads feel on the fists once they've hardened.
Remember that even with the plaster hardened, there is still a good amount of gauze above the plaster, and then you have the cushion from the boxing glove.....

I'm not so certain that a person on the recieving end of those loaded wraps is going to be able to tell that much difference between loaded gloves and not......maybe I'm wrong....

.....but what I do feel is that actually, since the fighter wearing the plaster has the hard knucklepad so close to his fists, without much padding from the plaster to the fists......I would think that plastering your hands would hurt the knuckles and bones on your fingers more than it would cause damage on an opponent.

Hey, if you do experiment with plaster......let us all know of the findings. I'm actually very interested on what the finding would be.

we've experimented on the substance, my dentist friends have been using it for quite sometime, moulding dentures thru them, sometimes we would make little figures from the excess. we tried putting them (small quantities on the first experiment) on gauze, unfortunately we didnt have gloves, so we didnt actually create the exact scenario of how you get advantage having plaster of paris in them. It did mould together after getting moistened (artificially with water instead of sweat), but once we started applying pressure, it slides and goes out of whatever available opening there is. one thing is certain from our experiments, it will not harden as a solid block, if you keep pounding on it while its in powder form or even when its already wet. It will just spread to the surface. with that, i dont know the case if we had gloves...probably the same:huh

Interesting that you said that it would'nt harden as a solid block......because the commision report was that the knucklepads even weeks after the fight had still not fully hardened........

That would explain why Margarito would'nt hurt his fingers and knuckles fighting with the plaster......but what I'd like to know is how having a piece of plastered guaze inside your handwraps, would inflict damage past the full wrap and then gloves????

There was a couple of guys in this thread who said they would try experimenting........we'll see what they come up with.
