aint nobody disrespecting him fool....just asking what you guys think and i'm aware of his condition but that dont stop him from taking in all these fighters who pay and expect the same attention from him......
If he got such a history of not paying so much attention to other boxers joining in the hopes to get freddies undevided attention ...that's on them. unless he is talking with them personally and promising his time. these guys might think they are special and are going to get his time automatically just because they sign up to the wildcard. in his defence.
Spongebob fists or not, Paulie is no joke. The last week is the most important week. Khan has MUCH MORE to lose. If Khan's not on his game and fine tuned for the last week he could lose, regardless of the pillow fists (You should know that). And I doubt he could have left Canada and come back just like that. Roach takes calculated risks and knew what he was doing imo.
khan's chance of beating paulie is about 80percent......garcias chance of beating margo was about 5percent..... you do the math
he hired roach for the margo fight roach started talking **** about how they're gonna beat margos ass roach never showed up
I think freddie, its fair to say , dosent treat all his fighters equally. there is a heirarchy at the gym , and freddie treats you according to that. fair enough- when amir kahn pays you 120 000 and some other guy with 10 fights pays you 1500- you go with the money. These guys understand the sacrifice and compromise they make when signing with roach, yet they accept it. its not up to me nor anyone else here to judge how another man makes his living as long as it is honest and law abiding. if fighters dont like it- they can leave. so far only a few have left- but most have stayed. You go to any sport, Basketball, tennis, golf, whatever- the coach spends the most time with the best player- thats where all the rest of the investment flows from. Believe me- if those 10 amateur s that he s neglecting lose- there ll be 20 more to replace them next week. if amir kahn or Pacquiao lose?? they ll all **** off and find the next hottest trainer to teach them. TRainers are the most loyal bunch- its the fighters that are fickle. I dont blame Roach for knowing how his bread is buttered, how his bills are paid, and working to that. If you have an investment- or investments, and 2 of them pay more than all the others combined times 100 - how are you going to spend your time?? on the shitty investments? if you do youre the fool, not him. These are his fighters- NOT his children- you expect them to be coddled all the way!?? If the make it past a certain level- then i d expect freddie to give them his undivided attention. til then- wait in line. I had the good fortune of training with one of the best amateur coaches in my city. I was in line behind olympic hopefuls, budding professionals and a couple of professional prospects. i was but a novice amateur. he alotted me 20 minutes a day. that was it - and i was grateful. he was in my corner for my fights- but that was it. if it clashed with a more important fighter- we all understood . its the heirarchy of the gym. of all gyms. you work hard, you move up, but you dont complain. two rules in any gym, you dont talk back and you dont complain to the trainer. in time - you earn the trainers attention- but he dosent have to earn yours. its that way in the gym. Only when you reach a high professional level- does the power shift change- when the fighter is worth more than the trainer. but that- my dear friends- rarely ever happens. most of us only reach a level where we are grateful for the trainer to train us- and are never able to pay more than the gym dues. few of us will ever be able to actually pay the trainer a full salary. only then- does the power shift and you can demand his time- cos you mean more to him than he does to you arguably. til then. shut the **** up. dont like it? find a new trainer. theres plenty around. i swear some of you guys talk like youve had 30 pro fights- but come off as unranked nobodies.
Freddy even started the Rumor that Garcia was so good that he would not let him spar with Manny... I just think Freddy wants to make big bucks before his condition does not let him train...
I honestly don't think they seemed too compatible at all. THere were many interviews where Roach said he thought highly of GR but he had a tough time getting him to implement new techniques...that his style in the AM's wasn't shedding a fast as he'd like. Now I'm not saying it's alright that roach wasn't in the corner of his fighter and was "OK" by chillin with Amir....but his relationship with GR was bound to come to an end and I thought that from jump.
