I have posted a couple of times in oher threads of my meetings and progression with a free to air show and more of them at the end of the year October 18 in Sydney to be exact. Just wondering is there no interest or are the posts being lost in the SMA crap. should be a good show with some Ams and pros and all shown on free to air. Maybe our efforts are for no reason as no one wants or has any interest in Free to air boxing
I don't care what it is on, free to air or cable, I just won't some money behind the cards to make some interesting fights, That is what needs money, Foxtal needs to put more money in each cards and demand some good match up with there money, Forget these 6 fight cards, just show the 2 main fights.
Free to air boxing is a great idea. Will it be shown Aust wide?? Like TCW said the fights need to be competitive to get new fans and sufficient ratings to make it a long term venture.
the more show that are on TV the more interest the sport gets the more interest it gets the more kids start doing the sport the more ppl in the sport will eventually lead to alot more top line main event fighters. of the about 150 registered fighters in oz the avarage joe on the street would not know more then maybe 2 or 3.
Thats great ced, what sort of standard pros and ams are we looking at? will this be similar to an angelo hyder nitro boxing card? I am not picky and will watch any boxing on telly but just curious
What HURICN said is absolutely correct. This is how boxing could be re-born as a mainstream sport in Australia. Everyone on this forum would like to see free-to-air telecasts!!
There should be some Ams to start the show which will be some good up and comming kids who will be all go. The Pros are still being negotiated however to give you an idea of the standard we are looking at having Hussy fighting for an IBO title
Sorry mate just saw another thread where you mentioned the Hussy info should be a quality night of fights
There has been some talk over the past few days and some good fights are comming together. Phil Austin from the IBO has been a huge help and the money from South Africa has also done well Horden Pavilion at this stage looks good for October I will hoipefully have a few fights for publication some time next week
