Freestyle wrestling ?

    Anyone on here do it, whats it like starting out, how long did it take for you to make good progress ?

    I would say by the third year one could have some pretty decent skills. What do you mean though...are you coming from a folk style background
    I wrestled exclusively folk up until my senior yr of hs and regret I didn't do it sooner. I prefer free and especially Greco to folk style. Greco heavyweight is what's up

    It's pretty tough physically. Especially at beginning levels(no wrestling background) it's a lot of scrambling. Your whole body works at anaerobic(printing) pace.

    Wrestled in High School but never took it seriously. It will heavily depend on your age, how quickly you pick things up and mostly willingness to pursue it. Coach will play major role too, obviously. Teaching only techniques, is not the way to go. My coaches explained concepts to me. For instance, they made me understand how to control my center of gravity to stay on top or get under the opponents center of gravity and take him down/throw him.
