Freitas was a huge puncher at this weight. . . but I felt he lost to Casamayor and went life and death with Barrios, the only two guys I recognise on his resume at 130. So I go with Pacman.

the barrios that gave him life and death would of done so to alot of fighters that night belive it or not. that fight took alot out of barrios. dam that was some **** when he wiped the blood from his eyes on the ref's sleeve that was truly an instant classic also it was big in latin america the whole brazil vs argentina thing

I think Acelino would lose heart against Pacman - even in his prime. If not, it would be a grand battle, and after the dust had cleared, I am fairly sure Pacman would have knocked out Popo.

freitas was undefeated at 130 but not truly tested, so i'll go with pac. Pac by TKO in the late rounds:good

Freitas was a very heavy hitter @ 130. Pac's still got pop, but his punch @ 130, while effective against other guy moving up too, hasn't really been impressive. Both guys are there to be hit, but Pac's much more straight in movement then Popo. Freitas by likely KO.

Popo is more elusive both hit like hell but Pac-Man lost a little one punch power from 122 and 126, both have speed and footwork but Freitas is the better pure boxer, and pac-man is more relentless. it would be a war as long as it lasted but I go with Freitas. Remember Pac-Man has never beaten a good-to-great fighter who was a career junior-lightweight, struggles when he is backed up, and has never tasted the power of a true 130, puncher.

I am thinking of how many truly heavy-handed fighters PacMan has faced from featherweight on, and the only guy near is Hector Velazquez. Pacquiao struggled early on dealing with this guy's range, power and roughhousing before adjusting. Freitas has better boxing skills than Hector and is miles ahead in power at 130lbs. Pac may not have the luxury of adjusting to Popo's game, when he gets cracked with Popo's big shots.

I guess world titles in two weight classes means no glory...this prime for prime guys...and in his prime when he was hungry Freitas was no quitter.

topics like this are problematic. how can you say prime for prime when pac's prime was around 122-126 and popo's prime was at 130?

Well most people consider Pac to be prime now. I see your point though. Let's just say today's Pac at 130 vs Prime Popo at 130.
