According to the RUSADA and the WBA, Fres Oquendo tested positive for two banned substances (tamoxifen and anastrozole) after his fight with Ruslan Chagaev this past summer.

I don't think so. Fightnews is a reliable website.

If the WBA and RUSADA are both saying he tested positive than he probably did.

Tamoxifen is a toxic cancer drug (misspelled above?). I'm not sure why Fres would be taking that.

It's used as a performance-enhancer because it blocks estrogen and reduces the side-effects of steroids.

Those drugs would be for coming off a anabolic steroid cycle.

Fres wasn't in some incredible shape... and I wouldn't trust this report one bit. Remember the timing of this...

They bring this up AFTER Fres complains to the media of not getting paid... this fight took place 4 months ago... a fight you could arguable say Fres actually won.. if if tested positive they would have announced this **** back then to make Chaegav look better after he looked like **** against Fres.

The timing of this smells of bull****.

    True.

And the WBA shouldn't let boxers like old Oquendo, who hasn't had a decent win in years, or Luis Ortiz, who hasn't ever beaten a top 50 HW opponent, to fight for vacant "world" titles.

There are many more deserving people to choose from such as Povetkin, Jennings, etc.

Povetkin-Takem should have been for that belt, not Chagaev-Oquendo.
