According to a large majority on Twitter it's for the Vacant Regular WBA HW title. It will be on the Mayweather undercard.

It looks like it, but surely the WBA title cannot be considered as a legit world title these days Super or regular. Their practically given them away :-(

 I think the Yanks will take any version of a ''world title'' in the HW division at the current rate.

Wilder's consistent i give him that..

For sure. Regular titles. Just waiting for them to bring out the Lite title and the Sugar Free title.

In theory it should be Ortiz vs. Povetkin for the regular belt. Oquendo and Wilder are ranked 6 and 7 currently by the WBA.

legitimate and any alphabet organization is an oxymoron.

I assume Vitali is going to stick to retirement, thus for the moment Wlad's next fight will be for the near nine year vacant World Heavyweight Championship.

It makes perfect sense. Since Lewis' retirement, the two best Heavyweights of this era have (understandable) choose not to fight each other. Now finally with Vitali's retirement Wlad has the opportunity to become the Generally recognized Heavyweight Champion of the World.

But you cannot just give out that title, thus Wlad's next fight will be for the vacant crown.

That may be true, but he never won the vacant crown because he did not fight the other top contender of the era...

Pretty much yes, thus when it does happen it really does mean something. Quality not quantity for me...

Whoever wins this will be the worst heavyweight champion of all time shockingly poor quality to be fighting for a world title
