Oquendo was an unique fighter, he was able to throw two simultaneous punches :deal

Seriously now, I can´t say too much about Ocassio so I won´t make a pick, all I have seen of the man was his fights with Holmes and Holyfield.....
Oquendo never impressed me, unless once against Ettiene :conf , I really liked that fight at the time.....

That Etienne fight was like what would happen if prime Ali and prime Frazier fought after each had a lobectomy.

Nah, just teasin' ya. :p It's an interesting match-up of never-quite-muches. I'd go with Oquendo, with very little certainty. I give him an edge on natural size as much as anything. Oquendo just proved to me again that he is an ATG fringe contender, earlier. He just hangs around, year after year.

:patsch...boy, that was a close one..I thought i had lapsed to the level of Corro-Ottke again..for some reason, these two guys are somewhat interchangeable..kinda like you said.."never-quite-muches"...maybe we'll just declare this matchup to be a draw and it'll cancel the two of them out..:D

I would give the slight edge to Oquendo. A little more size and power and a better chin than Ocasio.

Oquendo wins without a doubt. Ocasio might make a fight out of it, using his awkward style to press close and punch from odd angles, but ultimately Oquendo is too good. Oquendo's edge in foot mobility, hand speed, boxing ability, and counterpunching make the difference.

Most likely the fight goes ten rounds, but Oquendo just might land enough solid rights on the chin to get the job done early.
