In action this week. Can he still make some noise? He came close against Holyfield, I thought he beat Byrd, should have beaten Ruiz, and beat a usually durable Javier Mora.

Does he have a chance to get back in the mix?

We won't know the answer to that this week. Gabe Brown is too limited and will be dominated !

Oquendo sucks after getting robbed against Byrd he went on to get KO'd by Ruiz and lost to an ancient Holy who had been stopped by Toney and embarrased by old ass Larry Donald.

Haye or Peter may use him as a tune up but that is all he can be even in today's crap division.

Oquendo was never that great 5 years ago. Now he is getting older and fights part time so he's not going to make any impact on the division. His fights with Byrd, Ruiz, and Castillo were some of the absolute worse fights in recent years. But Oquendo still has some name value and can probably land one or two more decent paydays before hanging them up.

it really sucks that oquendo got robbed against byrd, but he would've lost that title quickly anyway. i gotta stick with my chicago guys, but he just doesn't do it anymore. good streak earlier on, but thats it

Indeed. Oquendo is nothing special but at least he doesn't hold excessively and fake "low blows" to "win" fights he would otherwise lose.

"Fres Oquendo" and "action" are two words rarely seen in the same sentance...

True. On the other hand, his most effective punch was probably rabbit punch, which is only slightly better than Ruiz tactics.

As someone mentioned should've won with Byrd - well, he should've been also penalized for rabbit punching. So overally I do not think this decision was that bad.

Most of his fights (that I have seen) were quite boring. Ruiz, Byrd, Tua (with the exception of final round)... only Etienne was able to make it entertaining by going down again and again.

Oquendo should keep beating journeyman but will go on to get beaten by the best.

he always punches to the back of the head. jab then a chop to the neck or lug.

not an appealing fighter at all. beat castillo and all castillo wante dto do was box and move all fres wanted was to clinch BORING FIGHT
