    23 / 5 / 3 with 13ko's...
    PABA heavyweight title
WBO Asia Pacific heavyweight title ,
NABA heavyweight title ..Interim title holder..

Friday is now ready to take on larger challenges fresh off his beating unbeaten Shane Cameron 19-0 in NZ..

Having lost to Lyachovich , Lance Whittaker, Sultan Ibragimov and Povetkin.. He has been mighty unlucky in the past not to get further than he has already.. I detect an indian summer for this strong heavyweight.. The losses to Ibragimov was on cuts after dropping the russian twice.. Lyach on pts .. and Povetkin on points.. Losing only after a thumbing incident in a fight he was easily winning over Whittaker..

I am adamant he can still mount a sustained shot at a major belt..

amongst his victories he has handed previously unbeaten foes.. Nate Jones .. Josue Blocus , Shane Cameron thier first losses.. Never dropped or stopped as ame or pro or even in the gym.. What says y'all..

I have faith in this guy.. anyone offer me any support..??

Hmm...could get in the top 10. Limited, but tough and actually gets in shape for his fights, which is more than a lot of heavies ranked higher than him at the moment.

Friday does always put in work , the problem that he has had in the last 5 years is that too many people have failed to step to challenge Friday.. He was kinda in the "Who needs em club" Too dangerous to fight , but not enough reward to beat........ I guess a few more names may like the idea of a three belt fight now.. Belts can sometimes open doors , plus the great exposure we got from beating Cameron in a high profile fight like that......

    Thanx for posting..

I haven't seen him fight, but yeah, its seems like he has a lot of unreached potential, and might be like some of my favorite 90's guys- Bert Cooper and Jesse Ferguson, who came on at the end of their careers.

If by some twist of fate Sultan beats Klit, howabout a rematch?

Who has promotional rights with Friday? If Friday wants to go somehwere, he needs to sign with Don King, and fight a name guy. Maybe somoene like Ruiz.

Bobby , Against Lance he was starting to ease his way in front by frustrating Whittaker with lateral movement and a faster pace, then Lance threw a short open palm uppercut that forced a sharp open thumb into Fridays eye immediately blinding him.. He had no choicebut to take a knee and address the issue.. Unfortunately (by no fault to Lance) The referee or commission were able to understand the situation without reviewing a tape, Fridays eye was closed tight and when we managed to get him back in the dressing room he passed out due to swelling behind the eyeball.. It was an anxious time but we were told by the doctor that Friday endured pain far beyond human barriers by walking under his own steam from the ring before blacking out.. It was one of those things... Winning for so long then having victory torn away..

Still he pursues his dreams.. We would have liked that one overturning at least to a no decision , but i feel a tko was very strange.. I think it
was partly because both Friday and Lance were at that time boxing for Warriors in Florida.. Fridays loss was Warriors gain and they had biggerthings lined up for a winner.. The event of a no decision would have not conclusively brought them a victor..

No sour grapes Bobby .. we have to just keep pursuing..

    God bles..

The heavyweight division is wide open. The top dog has a glass jaw, most of the other leading guys are mediocre Russians that obviously don't train that hard.Theres a few recycled former contenders plodding around too.If Friday has a good work ethic, a decent jaw, and a respectable punch, he can go all the way for sure.

Mendoza , we were with King for a long time and he just enjoyed putting us in with his top guys , so we did all we could ,, beat em...

We beat his new kids on the block.......
    Nate Jones...16 - 0
    Derrell Dixon ..11 - 1
    Josue Blocus..12 - 0

all on points (Nate Jones) for the Naba title..

then unfortunately lost on points on the Lewis v Rahman 2 undercard to King Promoted
    Sergei Lyachovich 15 - 0..

He failed to get us any fights for long periods so we were approached by Warriors..

We now box for the little known Crown Boxing banner in Las Vegas (Frank Luca) promoter Orleans Hotel , Las Vegas NV..

We have been that route before now.. BTW.. Ruiz turned us down at one time.. ain't that strange..

I like Ahunanya, he is tough , fit and seems to hit pretty hard which is just about enough to win a title these days. A worthy challenger anyway. :thumbsup

Bigcat, thanks for the update. I had high hopes for Friday early in his career, and I hope he can get things going again.

What happened with him in the loss to Sultan? I didn't see that fight, but I heard it was controversial. Is that true?

The Nigerian is a bloody decent heavy, but lacks that special extra to reach the top 20.
Like his fellow heavy Bidenko Friday is good in almost all departments, but not really great in neither of them.

    Motor City Sam..

The week of the fight was quite a trip , we found out at the weigh in that a certain scumbag called Carlos Panama Lewis was listed as one of Sultans corner men on thenight of the event.. Panama Lewis was banned for life for the death of a fighter that resulted from him removing the stuffing from the gloves at Madison sq garden (Resto v Collins bout) so immediately we madethe commission aware of this yet they did nothing at all to support our plea's .. I just felt we were against the odds with the whole thing..

Fight night .. we were pressinga lot of the action and Sultan began doing good work until Friday cracked him splitting his eye.. from that moment he saw panic and ran from us.. He was flicking the jab yet panicking.. Then Friday dropped Sultan, they called it a slip yet shortly after Sultan was smashed by a hook that did drop him proper, he took a count and again panicked .. Friday was not rushing in to finish him even though we were urging him to.. The next round Sultan was dropped and he did good to survive the round and run .. boxing well yet with his eye getting worse he was fighting in desparate flurries.. Friday was too relaxed and it looked that inevitably we were headding for a late tko win.. late in the 8th of an even fight Sultan tried to but friday and we all saw it they were desparate..
Round 9.. Sultan was hurt and lurched forward headbutting Friday and the worse cut imaginable resulted.. the doctor jumped onto the apron immediately and they (including the referee) were just too eager to halt the fight.. It was called off and by some stretch of the imagination they declared him the winner on a technical decision.. It was all a bit too convenient for Ibragimov.. I like the guy but with the fight i felt that they dodged a bullet that night.. Panama Lewis and all the garbage surrounding the fight did leave me stinging a bit.. If you can win a fight by dashing around panicking and flicking flashes of jabs together .. i guess he did a job.. But Friday did the better work , was almost stopping Sultan and intentionally headbutted..

I gotta let bygones be bygones..

He is the champ now.. another one slipped by us..

Ahunanya exposed Cameron's shallow undefeated record. Never seen Cameron fight but Ahunanya always seems to give it his best shot.

That one fight between Ahunanya and Ibragimov was always in the back of my mind when evaluating Ibragimov. He was damn lucky they stopped that fight because Ahunanya was coming on and landing the far more damaging punches. Ibragimov showed a real weakness for looping rights in that fight. He did some decent work but he has some defensive flaws that made me wonder about him.

I didn't know about the scumbag Panama Lewis. How they allowed that ******* to even enter the building is beyond me.
