    Round 7

Fury keeping away, putting his jab hand out to push on the forehead of McDermott. Fury weary and wary of the charging McDermott, readying his arms to toss around McDermott's back when he closes the gap. Ugly round so far. McDermott trots at him, and lands a right with Fury up to the ropes. McDermott tries to follow up but it degenerates into a clinch as Fury's arms muck up the works. Fury throws a limp 1-2 and McDermott is coming on, backing him away with combinations. Fury clinches, and chops the body of McDermott. Fury tries to counter hook his way off the ropes before McDermott can catch up to him but McDermott lands on him and Fury grabs. A point is deducted from Fury for clinching. Fury lands a counter hook but McDermott lands a right hand over it. Not McDermott on the ropes but fighting his way off.

66-66, Fury up in rounds 4-3 but even with the point taken.

    68-65 fury

fury edged the round imo but got deducted a point for constantly initiating clinches. very topsy turvey fight at the minute, fury is tired.

    Round 8

McDermott straightening up his 1-2, battering Fury into the corner with it. Fury walking off and clinching when he tires, breathing heavy. McDermott continues to bring the right hand down on Fury's head repeatedly. Fury very arm-weary, his mouthpiece visible - he throws wild, slow hooks and uppercuts. McDermott just stands still or takes a slight step back and they miss. McDermott plugs Fury in the sternum and tries to bring the attack back upstairs. Fury tries to work the body out of the clinches, and McDermott gets him with a hook. McDermott down from a Fury shoeshine to the face! He gets up at the count of six, doesn't look hurt.

    Round 9

McDermott presses on Fury, working the 1-2 and the lead right. Fury countering, and McDermott down AGAIN on a delayed reaction to an uppercut. :blood McDermott goes back at him and tries to work the short right hand inside to the face of Fury. McDermott down ONCE MORE from a counter hook/right hand combo and beats the count but is waved off.

Sloppy fight, but I enjoyed it. Both guys made up for what they lack in talent and skill with heart. Thought for sure Fury was on his way to being TKOed.

Thanks for the great rbr, IB. It was the 21st century equivalent of catching it on the radio. Sounds like Fury definitely looked vulnerable b4 McDermott suddenly hit a wall.

I was pulling for Big John too, but fair play to Tyson. He didn't look good, but he invested wisely to the body throughout and McDermott wound up exhausted by the end, otherwise there is no way some of those shots would have put him down.
