He's a great commentator but he really needs to stop bragging.

I like RJJ a lot more than Atlas. I'd rather hear Roy brag than Atlas all night.

RJ has the right to brag all he wants. He's the most talented boxer who ever lived.

No-one complains about Muhammed Ali bragging do they....

I cant get mad at Roy no more. I mean just to come back from the Ko's to this is FANTASTIC. A great comeback for a great fighter. I still would think that Hopkins vs RJJ TODAY, TOMORROW, NEXT MONTH, 3 MONTHS, WHATEVER:D Makes the most sense and will sell:yep
Roy Jones Jr taking advantage of training in California, Pa and helping this resurging regional scene get exposure, shows the character that Roy always had. Sure he's feeling hos old "confident" self but why not?
I'm not sure fighting pavlik would be a wise move, but there should be opportunity for Roy as he said from SMW-Heavyweight(;) ).

The evening belonged to Monty Meza Clay. Monty's only real drawback is his height/reach. But Meza-Clay is a VERY TOUGH FIGHTER. He Will/wants to fight the Champions. Gotta like the seasoning after the set back vs Cherry which saw Monty eat the jab and fail to close the gap. There's a theme of toughness that resonates through the best fighters from Pittsburgh and Monty has that. I'd like to see him at feather more so than 30.

Great card, wish that I could have attended this evening. Tommy and Mark Yankello's World Class Promotions have been activein showcasing some of the talented younger guy's coming up. Guy's such as Mcpherson, Karpency, Strauss, and Jesse Lubash:good I believe that the Pittsburgh scene will be revsurging with the Casinos going in. It could certainly lead to more venue's and action. There's other locale and TRI-STATE guys getting exposure on cards.

Good to see Eddie Chambers Ringside!! Hold ya head, suck it up, get back to work, and adjust the routine:yep You have the ability, toughness, heart, speed, and D. Whats missing is burst, volume, and consistency. Dont be satisfied with BEING THERE, BELIEVE YOU CAN WIN THERE, THEN LET YOU"RE HANDS GO:good

    Boo on Bert Sugar

for wondering why they call him fast:-(
Must be the HANDS BERT, THE HANDS:yep Not TRACK:nono Respect Mr. sugar's point that he blew it but Povetkin wasnt looking pretty at the end. That was no accident through the first half of the fight.

Actually many did but Ali bragged for reasons bigger than himself and even made it funny at the same time.

If anyone boasts let him boast in the Lord.

Are you kidding - Roy is ten times better than the annoying and repetitve Atlas, and better than the often inane Foreman.

I thought Roy's commentary and analysis was on the money!
However, did you get a load of Roy's list of preferred opponents:nut

I don't think Roy has any clue how far past his prime he is.
He could beat Delahoya because Oscar just isn't big enough.
Roy and BHop could put on a good show like Roy and Tito did.

    BUT;
Slappy Joe would embarass him badly.
Taylor, a guy who couldn't have touched a prime RJ, would probably beat him.
And Pavlik; gimme a ****in' break, that's first degree murder and in most states Kelly would get the chair!!

Roy just doesn't need this ****. Why is it that so many of the best fighters just can't admit that the last bell has rung, until AFTER they humiliate themselves?

    Boo

We really need more commentators like Roy, Foreman, O'grady, and Iceman Scully to keep things more on the up and up

I watched the first fight with the sound off, it was better that way. I got bored with it after that and turned it off.

Yes, indeed. And as far as his bragging, to be fair he saved it until the end of the show and I'd be willing to bet it was part of ESPN's plan to have him do so having him there.:good

RJJ is a great fighter and a great commentator, always loved it when he was commentating on HBO, too bad he's not doing it anymore.

I like jesse lubash and wanna pull for him. My concern is that he's a welter weight(decent height/size, not much pop). He's technically fairly sound but I wonder how he eventually fair's at the top of WW someday? Its way early though at 3-0. For those that arent aware Jesse was a highly nationally ranked and well known amateur.

The kid has a lot of tools/ability, his heart and chin will eventually get tested and I believe he'll answer those calls. I also hope that as he goes along and gets into bigger fights? Please, cut you're hair.:yep
I know that might not be what ya wanna do:hey But eventually when you're getting with experienced pros? All the hair flapping side to side wont help ya a damn bit with judges. It can make grazing shots look worse than ya really are. Or? grow it long enough to secure it:lol:

We're a long way from answering a lot of questions but certainly he has the base/background that real fighters are made of:good

Once the Casino's are up and running? ****, what was Chester WVA. BEFORE Casino's? Pittsburgh is an already re-surging MAJOR CITY with a long standing and high quality HISTORY. The likely hood of better venue's and opportunity is very high. :happy As we saw last night again? Pittsburgh can still make a good back drop to nationally televised fights.
