Did this count as Escalante v. Roman II?

It sounds like Escalante v. Roman I was a robbery after a slip after a robbery... but, hey, sometimes you have to break a few eggs.

Please present such a post. This is in your head, which at the moment is not very clear.

Take a step back. Breathe. Think.

As for people not comparing it to all time classics, actually that happened right here:
*these being Vazquez-Marquez and Morales-Barrera trilogies.

You and LSS are the ones who invented this fantasy world where I only give praise to famous HOF level fighters. All my posts regarding this fight were positive; one of them happened to be positive but in a critical, "let's calm down before declaring it an instant lock for FOTY" type of way. You and LSS can't handle that? Too bad.

It was a great fight. I never said it wasn't. **** you and your revisionist bull****. Sorry you didn't get my meaning in the first place and flew off the handle.

Anyway, back to relevant discussion of FNF...

...lost in the shuffle here is that Garcia vs. Theophane was a pretty nice little war in its own right. If anything, it's just too bad neither this nor Escalante-Roman could have ended in some kind of stoppage before going the full distance, as that's probably the only way ESPN were going to televise Sharif Bogere (some of us hoped he'd be squeezed in since his was only a six rounder).

Incidentally, has anyone seen a result anywhere?

It was a great fight we don't get those every week. For the record it was less skilled then Vasquez/Marquez or Morales/Barrera but it shouldn't be compared to them to begin with was just a great fight, with both fighters showing a lot of heart, not everything has to be at/or compared to the elite world level. Im not totally sure if that's what the argument was about to begin with but im not gonna read 14 pages either.

I think Andre Ward could make a great commentator after his boxing career.

What a ****ing war! I had a blast this exceeded my expectations. I thought for sure it would be #1 FNF FOTY for 2010, but right now it's number 1 FOTY overall in the Boxing world, IMO. Escalante proved that he is world class, he destroyed the slice Locke, and he beat up the bulldozing Roman. Escalante deserves a title shot this year or in his next fight.

Also, ESPN2 FNF is also defo Network of the Year as of the 1st quarter HBO has been crap, and Showtime has put on a couple of decent cards, but right now ESPN2 has had about 3 or 4 FOTY canidates.

Also, a little recap of the no TV cards. Bogere had a nice fight he stopped Hernandez in 2 rounds, it was a beautiful left uppercut that jarred Hernandez and he fell like a ton of bricks he got up, but he was on very very unsteady legs and the fight was stopped. Grajeda-Rojas fight was very good and it somehow went the distance. Luis Grajeda hammered Rojas with a left hook in the first round (think of the Bradley-Holt fight) it was nasty and It made me go and others "how the **** did he get up from THAT?!" Rojas fought hard, but lost by UD. Morales-Rodriguez was very good, that ended in two with Morales stopping J-Rod in two rounds. Bautista-Johnson was the last fight and it wasn't very pleasent. Not a good fight at all, but I still enjoyed it. Overall, an A+ night of fighting. There's no other sport like it.

He seems very composed and articulate on camera. Hopefully he will remain the same after his boxing career is over.

What a great ****ing fight! A great card overall. Garcia fight was a real good scrap and the main event was off the hook! Also, Andre Ward did a great job in studio. Props to ESPN for hosting this great edition of FNF!
