    - Joachim Alcine will take on Christophe Canclaux on April 5 at the Bell Centre in Montreal for the WBA super welterweight title.

    Alcine's second title defense.

    - There were rumors that Jean Pacal was pulling out of the talked about bout with Edison Miranda but both sides told me that the promotion is going forward as planned.

    - Last night on 'Toe2Toe', I spoke to Monte Meza-Clay and Eric Fields.
Meza-Clay went off on a certain rival of his in a totally unplanned rant. The start of the interview was a little echoey but we got it together rather quick.
Not sure what it was, it just took some adjusting to get the sound back to normal.

    - Please check out the site on Saturday night and listen in as Steve and I are broadcasting our first fights on TheKnockOutNetwork.com.

    - Miguel Cotto vs. Alfonso Gomez is going to be announced officially (probably) early next week. And it will be announced for April 12 - not April 26. And the opening bout on the HBO telecast will NOT be Antonio Margarito-TBA, it will be Ricardo Torres vs. TBA. Torres will probably be in with Kendall Holt, if Holt survives Ben Tackie in two weeks.

That leaves April 26 open - which could be the spot for a BAD featuring the rumored James Kirkland-Joel Julio bout.

Margarito is now being talked about for May with the hoped for opponent being Zab Judah - as long as they come to a financial agreement, which is always iffy with Zab. LOL

Canclaux was actually ringside at Alcine's last defence and said in a post fight interview that he was unimpressed.

I am contemplating adding a 'blog' to theknockoutnetwork.com. I hear this stuff all the time and usually just hold on to it until either the Sunday or Thursday show. So I decided to post it on here for now.

I keep telling myself that if I add a 'blog' to the site that I am almost obligated to get more into the newsie part of the business than I really want to.

I did this for ages a few years back and really dont want to do it anymore. But I seem to be pretty good at it. LOL

Kirkland and Joel Julio would be an incredible fight. Sure ko waiting to happen.

I'd prefer someone other than Gomez to face Cotto but atleast it should be fairly entertaining, albeit onesided.

Atleast a Torres and Holt opener is a good matchup.

Margarito-Zab, I'd be surprised if it comes off. If so than give Zab credit, he's a clear underdog there.

I love Kirkland, but I imagine Julio will box his ears off.

I haven't been impressed with Alcine either. Simms will make anyone look bad, but Alcine won the fight because Simms refused to throw punches, not because Alcine did anything to actually win the thing. I doubt Canclaux wins, but anyone with halfway decent boxing skills should be a live underdog against Alcine, who I feel like would get blasted out by any of the top 10 WWs.
