Making a thread about can crushers getting title shots, even multiple title shots during allegedly solid eras.

    I'll start it out....

Vaugh Bean.....Fought Holyfield for the IBF and WBA titles after stringing together 4 wins over guys with a combined record of 32-41(30KO losses)
Fought IBF titlist Michale Moorer after having gone undefeated in in 27 contest though his opponets averaged 9 wins and 12 losses (8KO):-(

Find some more with multiple unearned shots.

Here are a list of a few fringe guys who I think should get a shot in the spirit fo Vaugh Bean......David Rodriguez. Better record that Bean, More power, and MUCH higher level of competition.

Chauncey Welleiver........Spent most of his padding record days sparring and building his pro career slowly, learning on the job, but along the way he'd dealt well with several top named Celvel guys and has been pushing forever at a Blevel fight again.

Malik Scott......King Scott is back. And should he remain active.....he could definetly get a shot at a world title if he can fight 2-3 more times in the next 10 months. Activity activity activity. 3 more wins against Celvel guys and he's ready for a Dimitrenko or a Glaskov, then bring on Potvetkin or Wlad, or maybe even fight for the vacant WBC:deal

don't forget shannon briggs' spectacular run leading up to any of his title shots (especially in the last 5 years) he's up there as the king

    how about fraudley?

i like golota but didn't he get his 2005 first title shot after beating a few top 100ers?

jean marc mormec too looked amazing in an epic battle with fres oquendo that he may have lost......(although i guess he doesn't count because he wasn't even a fringe contener when he was tapped for the crown)

I'll tell you what,Haye barely deserved a shot. Beating Barrett,Ruiz and Audley? Come on!
