yeah probably not to be fair. But you get the point I was trying to make. They would have let Groves carry on only if they knew he was about the get totally hammered.

Yeah they would only let him continue to get zonked out... a first round stoppage is a failure to them in future costs, whoever wins.
Tempted to agree though based on the awful ref. I still can't believe a UK ref can be in charge of a fight involving two UK fighters in the UK. There's nothing world about that, and too much familiarity and potential inside corruption. Not saying there is in this case, just that it's so much more easy when it's UK/UK/UK/UK/world title.

I don't think so. The final call was made in the heat of a war, not at the beginning of one...

He got up followed the refs instructions and fought another 8 hard rounds. If you dont agree with the rules of the sport write the the board of control and see if they can change their criteria for you.

Froch might have been hurt more, but Groves head was lolling about from multiple shots and could have been properly stopped on his feet later in the round legitimately. Froch was only down with one massive blow, he head wasn't being lolled about.

What f*cked me off as well was Foster after Froch had been knocked down. He didn't ask him to walk towards him, he just grabbed Froch's gloves, rubbed them and let him continue.
