Froch: "Abraham an obstinate midget!"

Sorry for the delay in response, had no end of work on the go! :-(

Before I start, I'm definitely not thinking this is a cut and dry affair. I'm still only very slightly edging it in his favour, but I just think that Froch has all the physical attributes needed to take this fight, and having discussed at length with Robby McCracken and his team, it seems they're on the right track as far as tactics go.

For me, a lot of this comes down to a matter of discipline. If Froch can keep his head and be patient, the openings will come. I think Carl has neglected it in recent fights, but he is able to box with a purposeful jab and decent movement when he gets down to it, and I believe this is more of the approach he needs to take. Keep Arthur at arm's length and keep throwing punches, even if he is only peppering leather, whip in a looping hook on occasion, and be prepared for what comes back. Abraham is a very dangerous puncher as we all know, but does have a tendency to make himself a target when he does open up. Hopefully, Froch can weather these barrages and make the most of the opportunities.

I agree entirely about going to the body. It is definitely a key factor of defeating a fighter like Abraham. He complains whenever anyone goes anywhere near his midsection, he simply does not like being hit there. Which is bizarre when he can fight through the pain of a broken jaw. If Abraham starts complaining, Froch needs to jump on him, just like Dirrell did. Outside of Germany, hopefully it will be a level playing field without any favours from the ref.

My only concern with that is that I'm not overly impressed by Carl's bodywork. I can guarantee that this is being worked on in training, but it needs to be done with caution as he could end up a sitting duck attempting get his shots in.

Arthur has stated that he is going to start quicker, but I don't think he can make such a drastic change at this stage in his career. If he does come out all guns blazing, I can see him gassing. If he comes out the same Arthur we know and love, Froch should be able to bank a few rounds early on before things get rough and attempt to box his way to a decision. If he starts fast, I can see Froch weathering the storm early on and stopping a gasping Abraham in the later rounds.

Abraham does have dynamite in his gloves though, and as good a chin as Froch has, he cannot afford to be hit on it too many times. I think Rob will have him prepared for what to expect.

Hopefully I don't sound as though I'm grasping at straws here.
