But thats what makes me think Abraham will win. Bit naive saying all Froch has to do is box smart and he wins, but think about it. Abraham has beaten much better pure boxers than Froch. Does Froch really have the ring smarts, the footwork to outbox the very defensively sound and very accurate puncher in Abraham. I don't think so. Abraham by TKO 10-11th round, but im really hoping Froch wins.

As you say that's what makes it an interesting fight. I recognise that it's a close one but on paper, Froch wins 9 times out of 10. He's been in with and beaten better opposition than Abraham has and is the bigger guy. But Abraham is a big puncher and is well capable of changing the fight at any time, in any round. That's what makes it such a tough one to call. Personally I think you have to go with what's on paper though and that's why I just about believe Carl Froch will win.

I wrote a more detailed analysis elsewhere. I'm not sure if you're calling me naive, especially considering I've picked Abraham to win, but it would be simplifying the fight a little too much to say all Froch needs to do is 'box smart'.

Froch needs to use his height and reach to keep distance and land his own shots. If he can use that jab to get the right hand in to the body and side of Arthur's head, he might be able to do enough damage to give the Armenian something to make him think.

He then needs to use his own movement to stop Arthur doing damage in the middle rounds, and keep that jab scoring points. Occasionally he'll need to trade with Abraham, but he's tough enough and savvy enough to choose his moments.

But the last rounds are going to belong to Abraham. And I don't think Froch will be able to help himself. He'll make the same mistake almost every one of Abraham's opponents have made: they think they're doing well because he's not firing back much. They stay inside a little too long and BANG!

And from round 5 onwards, I see this being a give and take battle, with Abraham landing better shots. Froch will have his moments, but Abraham will hurt Froch often, perhaps scoring a knockdown in the last couple of rounds for a close points win.

Paper rarely tells the whole story. In his last four fights, Froch has been too willing to take hard shots. Abraham has only had one really gruelling fight against Miranda. And that was a looooong time ago. Carl certainly has the better opposition overall, but he's not looked good against any of them.

You also have to factor in that Abraham doesn't like taking punches, so his defence is a lot better. Froch never met a right hand he didn't like. Recent form points towards Abraham winning this, but Froch is a hard *******. He could pull it out of the bag.

Ive said it in another thread that i think Froch wins this by UD with a strong possibility that Froch will go down at some point but i still think it wont be enough for Abraham to pull it out of the fire.... Froch UD

Froch's defence is too open, Abraham will land bombs, hard to see Froch taking them shots over 12 round even with his iron chin.

Also Froch's workrate is a problem, it will be a great fight, looking forward to it.

I'm worried that Froch's chin isnt as solid at world level- he's seemed to have been buzzed on different occasions and not sure he can recover from one of Abrahams punches.

i see froch coming through some late dodgy moments and possibly getting floored but banking enough earlier rounds to take the decision

Such a hard one to call.

It's probably gonna be Froch UD or Abraham KO.

Heart says Froch head says AA
