That shot in the 7th was about it wen he caught Froch square on. Froch had Kessler badly hurt in the 5th and should of upped it a bit.
This fight will likely end one of two ways for me, either Froch mostly outboxes him and gets the decision. Or Abraham lunges in with a wild, sweeping right hook that knocks Froch out cold and outdoes Martinez's knockout of the year after last week against Paul Williams. It's a good match up because both have styles that whilst different, are far more effective than they're given credit for. Abraham's a solid boxer who tends to looks mediocre to poor for long spells before exploding, almost crocodile like, with vicious wide hooks and powerful straight rights. He's also capable of using pressure and sharp, accurate inside shots. He's a cameraman's dream with some of the punches he's produced in his career so far. Whereas Froch is the tall rangy guy that can everyone thinks is easy to outbox, until they stand opposite him and realise that his awkwardness is so difficult to control for 12 rounds. Froch can mix it up on the inside but his main strength against Arthur will be his control of distance and punching range while ripping away with body shots and punches around Arthur's tight head guard. All the advantages in this fight are for Froch and he should win. But he does have a tendancy to box like an idiot and if he's a little too confident I think he'll get sparked out. I fancy Froch to win a close-ish decision something like a 116-112 / 115-113 kinda thing.
Also lol at Froch's impression of Abraham if anyone hasn't seen this - http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/jnqZVYAKApIkO4p3EQIFmA?feat=embedwebsite
yep as I said Froch is totally nuts because of his loose to Kessler and from the next loose in his mind. Another boxer going to act in circus soon. :hey
Im gonna be 100% honest and say i really dont know , i voted for Froch on points .............. Reasons I think Froch is just a better fighter than Abraham , i really dont rate Abraham , and i think Abraham's best wins have all come from bull strength and aggression , something i beleive he will not be able to beat Froch with alone . I think it will be a close war of attrition in which both fighters will have there ups and downs , im not counting out Abraham stopping Froch , i think its a realistic possibility , he certainly has the 1 punch KO power , and Froch can be easy to hit and has been floored , ultimatley i see Froch having a better engine down thye stretch and has better all round skills , and i see him taking a UD . All that said , its still a pick em
I'm leaning towards Froch on points. If he keeps his cool, follows what McCracken tells him in the corner then he can make this easy for himself. Froch has to bag the first 4 or so rounds, Abraham more or less gives them away and Froch can't be too passive early on. I wonder what the officiating is going to be like, in the rules meeting Froch's people have to make sure the ref will allow bodywork. I think also, that with Froch throwing some wide shots near the side/back of the head, AA will complain a bit about rabbit punches. So Froch on points as long he doesn't get caught stupidly C'mon the Cobra!!! :bbb
Just thank the lord this fight isn't in Germany that's for sure. I watched Abraham-Miranda I again earlier.. my god what a joke! 5 points unfairly deducted and they STILL had to fix the scoring with none other than Mr Dave Parris getting involved
I don't care what others say but even in Finland Sauerland will be up to their ****. They are the main promoter and they will get their way. Fat Mick has being duped by this talk of a 'neutral' venue.
In fairness Miranda was lucky not to get disqualified in the 4th. He clearly headbutted Abraham in the jaw when the ref was moving in to break up a clinch.
This is an extremely difficult fight to pick for me... Froch has the ability but I think that he likes a tear up to much. Abraham is a better boxer than people are giving him credit for and he managed to neutralise Taylor and was well up on points. Absolute 50/50 and i'm rooting for Froch but I think that he is going to get caught to much and be stopped late rounds.
If Abraham starts properly and makes an effort in the first few rounds he will win this on points.I cant see him making the same sort of start he did against Dirrel so I pick AA on points.
