I was just messing, mate. I do get your point. I can see why many organizations would deem that illegal. Because as you say, there are a great deal of betters who have made calculated decisions based on the strengths and weaknesses of fighters, and not because they have the fortune of knowing their guy will carry someone to a certain round. So yeah, ideally, fights should run their natural cause - because that's what gamblers go by.

The idiot, why is he admiring to that. He only tried to help some friends make some money. He probably didn't even thought of it previously but in the 4th saw he could get his opponent out whenever he wanted and remembered that his buddies bet on the 5th round and probably said to himself, heh lets do this 1 round longer.
But why the **** would you admit. I hope nothing happens. I still wanna see Bute-Froch ffs. They can revoke his license.

And for those saying this isn't fixing, and it isn't illegal...WTF It IS
He basically took money from Bookies and give it to his friends.

Actually, that's incorrect what I've said there - "fights should run their natural cause - because that's what gamblers go by".

I don't gamble, myself. I'm against it. So how fights go, should not be determined by gamblers. If I was a fighter, and I wanted to carry a guy to a round for any reason other than gambling, then I should be allowed to do that. If I'm good enough and I'm willing to take the risk, then there's nothing wrong with that.

But Arran, spot-fixing isn't throwing a game away, either. Yet that's still deemed illegal. So I can see why some would be against it.

what about up-coming boxers who are told not to finish the fight early so they can gain experience and get rounds under their belts even if they could end it in the first?

It's illegal dude. It's called embezzlement. Using or trafficking an amount of money in his or another persons favor.

Then that's different. That's not involving outside gamblers having exclusive knowledge that other gamblers do not; thus making it unfair.

yeah but if prime Mike Tyson was fighting mr x with 10 wins and 30 defeats in a keep busy fight, and youe bet on tyson to win inside 3 rounds...and tyson has been told by his trainer to get some good rounds under his belt (bare in mind tyson prime was very young), and takes it to the 6th....hes cheating the punters, especially since tyson at that time would most likely have finished it in the 1st

If his trainer had a bet on that fight, for an over 5 rounds or over 3 rounds or anything like that it would be illegal.
In our case Froch knew what round his friends/family has bet on and made sure they win.

Yes. Even if you bet on yourself and do everything in to win as you normally would. It's still illegal. Because you gain of a fight you had power to change it's outcome. Or something like it.

If one of the fighters is able to decide which round he will end the fight, that fight probably shouldn't have reached the betting cards in the first place.
    Booker's mistake.
