Just read this article on BBC

Could this come back and bite the cobra on the arse :? especially with all these hand rumours going on with Floyd Mayweather.

Curiously froch's stating he's had a few injuries which is a bit unusual on is it me or is his whole demeanor not smelling of confidence. I think the whole rucus of getting there, no fans, injuries, fightin in his hometown might be getting to froch:?

I hope not hopefully the cobra pulls through and fights the greatest fight of his life....cause I personally feel beating Kessler makes his legacy look amazing

the injection just temporarily numbs the pain in his hand, nothing illegal bout that, footballers and other sportsmen use it all the time

These painkillers should be banned. You can't compare it to football. This is a fighting sport, the whole idea is to inflict damage on an opponent. Numbing your own hands obviously has advantages, it means a fighter can punch through the pain barrier and maybe punch harder than he otherwise would if he has glass hands.

None of it should be allowed...

To me thats as performance enhancing as PED's in its own way. It surely enhances a fighters performance from what his body is capable of at that time.

It's dangerous because fighters can continue to punish there opponents without the normal pain you would feel on hands after each punch. I remember a doctor saying fighters get a thrill after a while when they feel nothing it on the hands. It's very dangerous but not unusual for fighters to use it...doesn't make it right though.

never thought about it like that tffp, it potentially gives him the ability to punch alot harder than he would with good hands

I mean if this is legal wouldn't you inject your hands just incase as a fighter? **** it..lets numb our hands, I can punch as hard as I want without fear.

Why don't we whip out the needles in the middle of the fight? Audley could have injected his shoulder. You wouldn't see that because it would be a joke, its a battle wound, but its the same going into the fight. It's man on man, technique, strength, condition (incl. injuries) all comes into it. Nothing artificial should be at work.

To me you either have everything legal including roids and PED's as well as painkillers or everything illegal so the playing field is level. It should be clear cut with no room for confusion.
