hahaha , what a dilemma you have , im supporting GGG because thats where my money will be , patriotism goes out the window with me when the money is down
"i always said froch's chin was overrated" or "ggg is too small and hadn't faced anybody good before".
You do realise Golovkin was a stand-out amateur? You don't get to become an Olympic silver medalist without being to 'box with any substance'.
looks at it like this ggg's hardest fight if you can call it a hard fight has been martin murray which lasted 11 rounds ask yourself how long martin murray would last with froch ?
I don't think Froch could resist the massive publicity and payout this would give him, or the credit of the boxing world if he wins. The potential superstar status beating Golovkin would give him, would put beating Groves in front of 80,000 people into the shade. The whole world would be watching this fight if it happens, and with the size advantage he'd have, it's a fight he certainly can win.
As i said after a year off has that helped him rest or has that plus a possible decline mean he has really deteriorated . If he has declined very little or not at all it will be a good fight where both the winner and loser and boxing in general wins GGG on points for me in a classic close battle
Intriguing fight on two levels- can GGG cope/can his power translate to SMW and will Froch have deteriated after a year plus out of the ring. If Froch beats GGG, he does it in GGG's first fight at SMW when he might be slightly vulnerable. He cannot allow GGG to have a tune up against a Paul Smith opponent first.
Fair play to Carl if he takes this fight. He doesn't need to. I can't see GGG knocking him down at 168 though.
Expect Froch to ruin the hype. Too big, too strong, too durable, too heavy handed, too experienced. GGG looks fantastic against over matched MW's, but Froch has been in with big punchers numerous times and beaten them, and he has been in with good technical fighters and beaten them. Besides heavy hands that are totally unproven at 168, i really don't see what GGG brings to the party, do people seriously believe that he could outbox the bigger man ? GGG fans should take note of how easily he gets hit, and how quickly he seems to tire. Froch by TKO for me, GGG will have his moments, but i think once he realises his heavy artillery isn't having the desired effect, and he feels the weight of Frochs punches, he'll realise he should have stayed at 160.
