I was really shocked by him. i expected him to win the first 7/8 rounds just on activity, and then war for the last 5/4 rounds with AA. but what i saw was a very disciplined performance which i didnt think him capable of. he actually implemented the gameplan used by dirrell, which is staggering considering the difference in technical ability. i think he has re-established himself as a top 4 fighter behind only bute, ward, kessler. i actually think he could beat ward based on the problems sakio gave him. i think he might have a decent chance vs kessler in a rematch, it is still 50/50 IMO. but his defence is still too bad for a good accurate puncher like bute, he would surely get stopped by lucian. was anyone shocked at how well he performed? still a bit crude, but he showed a good jab, good elusiveness and decent angles to dominate AA.
Froch would stop bute, beat Kessler in a rematch, the only person I would worry he couldn't beat would be ward, with the home decision, or just through ward being a boring fighter, but I think he could ruff him up possible for the win. If he had the right plan he could win.
Yeah can someone please please please tell me why Bute is so highly rated????? I'm not bothered if you can actually explain it, but I've asked the question to tons of threads, why is Bute ranked ahead of Froch in your eyes, and no response. So someone, anyone, make me look like a fool for asking the question. Froch for me is miles ahead resume wise.
I think posters believe he's better on paper, but as this tournament has shown, fights aren't fought on paper. He's knocked out a few bums & you know how gullible people are.
when bute fights the level of competition that froch has faced i might become a believer, until then bute is just an undeafeted, protected, hometown fighter in my book.
His defense surprised me. He took away Abraham's explosiveness by slipping and smothering his attacks, Kind Arthur couldn't land on him.
knock out of zuniga and berrio where pretty convincing. koes over miranda where good even though a poor opponent but returning the compliments to andrade is very good. the problem is that anybody who wins in the super 6 is better ranked than bute. he is missing the boat by not entering. he seems to do everything right. might have stamina issues and has been knocked about a few times. but still. he is a tidy boxer with power and speed and doesnt make bad fights.his win over bika is a great win. very one sided and better than calzaghe or ward.but not entering in a tourney with the biggest and best fighters of the division is a terrible idea. his ranking is due to all the best losing to the best. so he is in a sense a caretaker until the dust settles.
Bute?? Yeah remind us all what the **** he has done again to be considered better than Froch. Froch would wear down and knock Bute out.
I'm not sure he's No. 1 anymore. If rankings are heavily resume biased, he may only be 4th. Even on the basis of h2h predictions, Ward and Froch are proving themselves more each time they fight. The point, though, is that the likelihood of Bute PROBABLY being No 1 is higher than the likelihood of his DEFINITELY NOT being No 1, so, he cannot be dismissed out of hand. Anyway, the thread is about Froch... ...as a boxer, Froch is underrated.
Bute got kayo'd by Andrade as the bell sounded in the 12th. Froch has way more power than Andrade! Froch would kayo Bute in 9 max. Lynchburg
the guy in this video think that Froch is better than Bute [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f79jRj4vYWk[/ame]
He did pretty solid, but abraham's defense is middling at best, and he had no answer for Froch's jab and combinations, which really didn't look stellar. Froch did a great job parrying and keeping his shoulder in position. With faster footwork and more 3+ punch combos he would have looked better. Also uppercuts through abe's guard would have probably netted him a knockout.
