Beyer clearly beat Green in the return, he also beat Woodhall away, Lucas. Those 4 wins are all decent and late in his career drew with Bika when Beyer was late in his career and the fight was stopped due to a cut from a headbutt

Mundane was KOd by Ottke but that was when he had only had about 11 fights but Mundine beat Soliman 3 times, beat Green, beat Echols, he would go on to take the 0 from Geale and drop weight and stop Mosely.

Im not trying to make out they are major names but you rate Rodriguez as a good win for Ward and Mundine had a better SMW career than him.
Consider many rate G Groves but he has not had as many a good title wins for example[/QUOTE]

Oh I agree home advantage is massive. I dont blame Ward for wanting it but as i understand he wasnt going to be in the Super 6 if he didnt get it and the point is that all the other original contestants had to agree to it for it to happen.
It would have been nice to see Ward do the same as the others and would show if he was able to win a world title fight away in Europe.

The Super 6 was really a win win for fighters like Ward, Dirrell, Abraham and Taylor.

I always felt more credit should have gone to Kessler and Froch as they had titles with it all to lose whereas that others had nothing to lose and took their titles on the road

I do rate Ward. There are SMWs that I dont think would have been able to hang in certain eras. With Ward I dont doubt he could have competed in them even if not win them all. I like Froch but think there are some eras/historical fights he may have struggled in. Froch did show he could win away, with Ward we never got to see that happen and at SMW it is quite an interesting subject that I have mentioned before

Yeah definitely it would have been nice, like I said that’s a strike against his legacy.

I think Ward could hang in most eras especially considering SMW has a short history as it is one of the new division, Froch like you said is limited on the technical and really is an overachiever for me so against movers and guys with a lot technical ability he would come up short.

You don’t full credit for losing, I give them credit for attempting it but Ward goes above both as he beat both of them. Yeah it’s been a good debate bro.

I’m not saying he didn’t beat Green but I’m saying if Green is the level you are struggling It shows your ceiling. Bika was a awkward tough contender/gatekeeper nothing more.

I don’t rate Rodriguez I just said for a defence it was acceptable as he was highly ranked in 3 bodies, there was money on the table from HBO who called for the fight and he was undefeated. Is it a stand out win? Hell no but for someone coming off a year long lay off and entering a contract dispute I won’t destroy him for it.

no, its been a while actually. you fail.

please lay off the retired fighters unles its relevant. You know full well the only reason he was mentioned here was that its fun to see Failey spin, and thats a good reason as any.

I dont share the interest in a guy who continues to slide down the SMW ranks with each passing year. Give me a Ward anyday over that...but you'd not notice me posting on him because thats not your agenda.

I havent credited for losing, I was crediting 2 fighters who entered a competition who were bringing far more to the table, in that they were world champs travelling with their titles.

Barrera refused to fight Kovalev two times, now he has picked Bivol, but is trying to back out of that fight as well...............

I don’t think he is, he is saying he wants vada testing that is a great thing. However if he doesn’t take this fight i will believe this guy is scared of step ups because he would backed out a fight with Beterbiev, Kovalev x2 and now Bivol. There is a pattern emerging.

That’s a good read, Ward was wrong for that imo, he should of did the testing, I do think he probably didn’t do it because of his diva mentality he is someone who doesn’t like anything dictated to.

I don’t think he juicing to be fair, it’s possible he may have been for that fight but he passed his voluntary VADA testing for both Kovalev fights and that was the biggest fight of his career so not sure why he would need to juice for a Rodriguez fight.

When Froch said that Bivol did respond to it at the time

But you still had Ward's grotesque legion of spastic rodent fans sinking their daggers into Bivol even though it was Froch who said it and it had nothing to do with anything that came out of his (Bivol's) mouth.
