Canadian Dollar is not very strong currently. If Bute is getting £1mil then he will end up for 1.75mil Canandian dollars.

Carl Froch is aiming to unify the world super-middleweight titles starting with a clash against Lucian Bute in Nottingham this September.

Froch overcame Jermain Taylor a month ago in the first defence of his WBC belt in a memorable showdown, finishing off the American with just 14 seconds left in the fight.

“Since beating Taylor, my popularity has soared and I find it hard even to walk down the street these days without being stopped,” said Froch. “To fight again in front of my fans will be marvellous. I was prepared to go and fight in Montreal against Bute if that was necessary, but it looks like it will now happen in Nottingham.

“I took a risk by taking on Taylor in America but that is the kind of guy I am. I am not afraid to gamble.”

this is the reason butes up for travelling and as long as its a 2 am so primetime showtime couldnt give a **** if it was in palestine. 7,000 is unusually small though and if the moneys gota be right and he undecard sorted the tickets will be hella expensive

could it not be moved to the NIA in b/ham or MEN in manchester? not too far from nottingham.

good fight anyway. froch only beats bute if he stops him i think

I think having it either at the LG Arena (NEC) or the NIA in Birmingham would make more sense. They both hold more people, and the venue seating can easily be altered to make it look full if ticket sales do bomb. I doubt that though. Nottingham isn't a million miles from Birmingham and two big world title fight, providing Witter v Alexander happens would be massive. Who care about having it in the middle of the night, really?

If anything it means people can save money on a room for the night as there might only be a couple of hours after the show until the trains/buses start running again the next morning.

Froch could get 15,000+ but not at 3am, 7,000 is a decent number at 3am. Also the more tight the venue the better the atmosphere.

Nottm Arena held 10,000 for Metallica concert although this was with fans standing on the floor area. All seated it definately holds more than 7000. Probably about 8,500. There WAS 7000 for the Pascal fight but it wasn't sold out.

If Hennessy has to pay Bute top dollar as well as Froch, I doubt Witter will be fighting Alexandwer for the WBC as chief support as I think this would prove too expensive.Hope I'm wrong though

Nottingha, Arena is a great venue... altho I think that they could sell more tickets with aquality Hennessy undercard... a 2am start is not good though.... A trip to Montreal would be good though...:good I want Froch to make as much money as possible so it has to be best for him.. C'mon Carl..:happy:happy
