He is one of the most respected fighters on this forum, flaws and all. What exactly is your point? He's very special compared to Bute.
Froch came out strong and overwhelmed Bute. Bute was taken by surprise and wasn't prepared for what came at him. He knows what to expect now, if he boxes and fights cautiously without sitting on the ropes I can see him catching Froch with something serious and taking him out. I've never rated Bute and I've never rated Froch, the first fight wasn't surprising to me. The second fight will be the same, these two guys anything could happen because they're both capable of doing very good things in the ring and they're both capable of looking very ordinary in there. Froch has been massively overrated since the Bute fight, I see the rematch as 50/50 the same I did as the first fight.
styles make fights... johnson was finished when he fought froch and even more so for bute. Froch never fought bika and for me comparing performances like this does indeed lack sense. Also the notion that bute didn't try his normal box and move approach is not the case. Re-watch the fight and you will see bute boxing on the back foot, using plenty of feints to try and lure froch in etc. Problem is at some point he had to engage and froch could hurt him easier than he could hurt froch. And when bute is hurt he struggles to keep to the game plan. I also happen to think bute is struggling more than ever to make super middle.
Didn't you pick Bute in the first fight?:think So you're predicting that Bute can KO Froch this time? Just you're saying if he doesn't sit on ropes he can take Froch out. Fancy a six month av bet on that?
Fair enough but how you can say bute now knows what to expect is impossible. Carl didn't come out strong until he fully realised that bute was not taking his power shots. Problem for bute is froch realised this early on and jumped on him. The only thing that bute can expect is that he can't take frochs power and the fact that he is a damn good finisher when he has a fighter in trouble. the fact that you do not rate a fighter that put it all on the line and has provided many an exciting night for us fight fans tell me that my conversation with you is limited. We obviously look for and expect different things in fighters.
I'd just add to that Dendy.Froch is probably the most natural SMW of all the top names(as in weight wise) so if Bute is going up,any decent LH is going to try and swarm him,as will most SMW's now,and strength might be a problem. I've never, ever said Bute was no good.I still think he beats most at 168.But Froch has laid down a blueprint, and all this drivel about him not fighting his normal style is just that, drivel. And all this about him not being right in the build up? Top quality. Can you imagine Bute scored a wide UD and Froch fans saying "he wasn't right"? We'd be laughed off the forum. Bute took a helluva beating, but no one's saying he's become ****.Him and his fans have just had a bit of a reality check that's all.All his fans were doing was believing the hype and that's normal.
Froch has more A level experience compared to Bute, the end result would be the same. Pointless rematch.
Indeed:happy People are making out that bute was the master of his own destiny (failure) in nottingham, not really giving froch the credit he deserved for his nights work. Bute didn't go to the ropes by choice in that he watched his punches bouncing off froch and was hit really hard in the face. Retreating to the ropes hurt and trying to counter was his only option or else he would have took the pain and continued to box in the centre of the ring.
Hey man props to Bute for taking a rematch that's what champions do. The only way I could see him pulling it off is if he absolutely just froze in Nottingham, he will know if that's what happened, we can only speculate. Surely though it would be one of the biggest turn around's we have ever seen in a rematch if he pulled it off? Can't think of anyone getting completely battered for 5 rounds and knocked out then winning a rematch? I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me will know someone who did that.
As we discovered,Froch was fighting for his career that night, and no one had ever took it upon themselves to just overwhelm Bute with brute strength and all out offence. I'll bet there were a few previous Bute opponents thinking;"****!atsch" Bute's legs are too thin(probably to stay at 168 ) meaning he has no power of recovery. If I was Larouche,I'd have him doing heavy squats for a couple months and accept 175 is the only way/chance he can deal with pressure and recover in a suitable fashion.
Yes I have always thought he would be healthier at 175 but then again he will no doubt have it put on him and I really don't think he reacts positively when hit hard. If i were bute i would go to 175 and fight pascal, the fight would be massive in canada and no doubt earn him as much money as what he would get from froch if not more.
Froch has no respect for Bute's punching power. he can just walk through his shots to get too Bute's fragile jaw. no other result other than a froch win
