They could say put it in America but these two fighters aren't exactly well known in USA. It would have to be in one of their backyards to attract a crowd so they make more money. Chances are they wouldn't be able to do that in a neutral venue.
Andrade is mandatory, so it most likely will happen. Personally I'd like to get Bute-Andrade II first, because if Bute beats Froch, there's a possibility of keeping the WBC belt and vacating the IBF therefore he wouldn't have to face the classy Mexican. Anyways, both are excellent fights!
YOU ARE A ******ED ****** ****ER. I said Bute is the MOST SIMILAR boxer to Calzaghe in the world today.
No, but Bute is stylistically similar to Calzaghe, and as was originally stated, closer to Calzaghe than anyone else out there. They're both southpaws who flourish on workrate and quick combos, they move similarly, they have the same defensive strengths and weaknesses, but obviously Calzaghe had superior handspeed, workrate and stamina (though Bute probably has better power, or at least throws his punches harder). If Froch can't beat Bute, he would have had no chance against Calzaghe. Personally, I don't fancy that Froch has much of a chance, unless Bute runs out of gas again.
Unification can't really happen right now. The ABCs probably wouldn't let the winner keep both belts (and don't be shocked if Bute gets stripped if he doesn't fight Andrade now), plus Kessler is tied up in court, plus you can all but guarantee that Balszay will hijack his belt since he's a Universum fighter.
I'm not really a fan of Froch but his attitude has to be admired. I doubt he's got the ability to unify the division but at least he's willing to give it a try. Good luck to him.
We can hope can't we? I also suppose it was wishful thinking, hoping that Kessler's problems will be finished any time soon. If Balszay wants to stay at home and defend against bums let him. The WBO is the shittest belt of the four. The other three are up for it when they are able to and I think the three main belts is good enough to be called unified champ.
Actually, from what I've been told. The IBF agreed to the unification bout as long as the winner fights Andrade in their very next fight.
I'm not sure I understand. Is he ****ing monkeys and he's ******ed, or is he ****ing ******ed monkeys?
It dos'nt matter where they'll fight, Froch will have to knock out Bute to win, he can't possible win on points.
Going by recent history, all white fights don't draw that well in the US. The only recent example on US TV was Calzaghe-Kessler, which was a ratings flop despite being a unification fight with two "marketable" fighters. You've hit the nail on the head with everything else. :thumbsup
It would make sense not just for the sport, but for Andrade personally to let Froch-Bute happen first then. He'd be fighting for 2 belts, and he'd get more money out of his 25% split because the winner's value will increase.
With the recent debacle of the WBC there is nothint to tell us Suleiman will tell the winner to lose one belt.
