Trying to make things happen by turning down Pavlik and Bute fights because the purse was too low? You lost all credibility, if you had any to begin with. QFT. Bute hasn't had the opportunity to unify because he's had nobody to unify with. Calzaghe wouldn't have fought Bute (and Bute probably wouldn't have fought him either because he wasn't ready yet), and the rest of the belts have just been sorting themselves out with being vacant and enforcing mandatories. In the meantime, he did take on Andrade, who was probably the best fighter legitimately available, and he fought three other guys who were in the top 10 at the time he faced them. Froch has beaten Taylor, and that's pretty much it (some might argue Pascal was top 10, but none of the major lists had him in the top 10 and I had him at 17 when he and Froch fought).
I found this interview (in french) of Bute from last week. Click "boxe" on the left. The click the first video at the top of the list: http://www.rds.ca/video/visionneuse.html He basically says what we already know. They are negotiating with Froch and Andrade. Nothing is signed yet. When asked about going over to England to fight Froch. He said he has no problems with that. Boxing is boxing. He's willing to go anywhere to fight. He says it's his dream to unify the titles but he also wants to rematch Andrade to erase all the doubts about the controversy of the first fight.
I agree Andrade is better in some ways than Froch, and would probably beat Froch. Froch is ****ing tailor made for Pavlik. Kelly would land almost at will. In fact he'd have to practice missing to land less than 60% on Froch! Pavlik/Bute is a great fight, but remember this; the best southpaw Pavlik has faced was a faded version of Bronco McKart.
Well, turns out the purse wasn't too low after all in the Pavlik fight. After Green's axx hole advisor pissed Arum off, Green came back begging for the fight but Arum wouldn't talk to him.
LOL. Because that jackass quoted me wrong, now it says that I said what the jackass said in all the quotes. I used to like Allan Green, and it's good that he's overcome so much to still be in the game, but the more that gets reported on him, the more I've come to the conclusion that he's a complete ***** who talks a big talk but fails to back it up when push comes to shove.
