How did he win a bronze at a world amateur champs then? Taylor is faster and I reckon its 50/50 - Taylor probably getting a hometown decision. But some people on here are well wide of the mark about Frochs ability...
He has boxing skills, but that doesn't mean he can box in the conventional sense. He has the raw ability - good speed, decent power, great chin - but he fights like an absolute tramp. Hands down, chin up in the air, no jab, no head movement, singular punching, no reflexes: he just makes far too many mistakes to be in the ring with a talented fighter like Taylor. If Taylor uses his jab and speed effectively and doesn't resort to his habit of backing up onto the ropes, this should be an easy UD.
I don't know what happened to him since the amateur days, he'd never win anything fighting like he does. I guess a lot changed during the adaptation period to the pro game. His jab is sporadic. His punches are all telegraphed, planted feet, mostly wide shots. No great handspeed. Footwork is fairly minimal. It's interesting because in his early pro days he appears more athletic than he is now.
I Agree his workrate is slower than my grandma and he could'nt put a combonation together with a calculator.....ha ha
